Change how Gravity Unit and Activation Modules interact

This seems sensible, but would require a device allowing astronauts to deliberately refuse gravity otherwise boarding is gone.

      Cargo

Have you realized that a player inventory of like 5 MILLION units is just a few button clicks away already, like, under the current system? Like, have you played with it at all?

Isn't a space Ferrari just... a normal Ferrari?

      Ship/Station Atmosphere aka air systems

I like it. Not something I'd call high priority, but Life Support is up there with fuel as something I'd like to see.

This is an interesting idea. Might be hard to implement, but another planet/station movement block that would function similarly and might be easier to implement would be a hover block. Like... allows 2-axis movement along a plane defined by a bordering gravity surface and 3rd-axis movement...

By "Volume Units" you mean "Mass Units," right?

Because grey hull and grey standard armor take up the same amount of space (volume) when placed, but GSA registers as higher "volume" in storage. They both fill exactly one block of space, so identical volume. Is the intent a difference of MASS?

      Starter Station 2015-12-07

A Purpose-Built Starter Station With cargo and other changes, getting the basics is more complicated than ever for new players. My goal in this station was something quick and affordable to build, but with full features to make growth easy. It's a good station for new players to learn on and...

Power changes are ridiculous and broken

I don't believe the recent power changes are broken. They are a massive change to design dynamics and I do find it more than a little frustrating to have ALL of my large designs (the ones that take weeks of work to tighten up) obsoleted for a massive change that seems arbitrary at this stage in...

I know they increased the power cap, but did they just double the power regen as well?

The power regen cap *IS* what they doubled primarily from what I read.

Would you be okay with a game engine change for Starmade?

I'd be fine with same engine or a new one. As long as the result is good...

Chat: Do NOT delete the current message when using up/down

yeah - that's infuriating for anyone used to typing in a word processor. using arrows is just instinct and you lose your whole message.

      Station Specific Buff(s)

You forgot to mention that every station shouldn't show up on everyone's maps the moment they appear at spawn... I know - I agree with most (not all) of these. Every thread discussing improving stations goes into all these different directions and everyone just gets off on tangents arguing...

      Station Specific Buff(s)

No interest at all in stations that can hold their own without magical invincibility in this game, eh?

      Station Specific Buff(s)

Brief Suggestion: Implement a single-block system that buffs stations & planets only, based on Faction Points. Station Security Computer, Defense Mainframe, Faction Mainframe, Installation Protection Grid, Skynet or any number of names would be appropriate. Suggested Features: A single block...

      Structure Storage!

Isn't this basically what shipyards do right now??? That's how I use them anyway. I keep a couple miners and ratters sitting in docking, but all my other large ships I disassemble to designs (twice - so I have a backup design besides the one stored in shared faction storage. just in case) and...

Ship Explosions: How we should handle dead ships

I like the idea of a large damage pulse as a possibility; though I'd base it on reactor blocks, not total mass, since hull is unlikely to be very reactive.

Help me understand this again: effects for Cannons

Personally I prefer empirical testing to theoretical math. Meaning I think it's more informative to fly out to a 'roid field in a big power core with engines carrying an inventory full of weapons, effects and armor than to crunch numbers and try to imagine how that's going to affect objects in...

Building with standard armour be like:

I totally relate to the OP. At this point though, I've discovered that building at certain angles can help a lot. Using alternating colors/materials to break up giant monofields of texture works pretty well too. I've really moved away from lighten in most situations and find it actually more...

Brainstorm This Crew: Stations, bonuses, specialties, experience & expense.

I like the ladder/path thing, but I was honestly thinking more of a block that NPCs would keep within a radius of or use as a pathing "landmark" more than a linear path, but your approach may be the only practical version. Hard to say.

      Maps

Thank you for the response. The first option is definitely more straightforward, despite the drawbacks. The second option is far superior but I can see that it carries more coding problems to solve. IMO trading map data shouldn't determine the system. I think the main issue is allowing players...
