Brainstorm This #The Solution to Economy - The Exchange

I knew factions were getting an overhaul, but "..for now we'll include faction stations..."? Now that is intriguing. Thanks for responding, Bench. Enjoying the recent improvements immensely.

      Mb is deeply unbalanced

Pouring over the weapons charts I find myself completely failing to understand the thinking behind the Mb combo in this game. It doesn't make any sense. Neither on the basis of either 1) a balanced game-play perspective, nor 2) any real life, common sense or sci-fi parallel. #1 of 16 in Range...

      Damage Pulse Killing Missile Entities

pulse should definitely destroy missile entities in range. because, duh - its a giant AOE effect and missiles go down with 1dmg. beams should destroy missiles as well. laser point defense seems MOST logical of the options, since it is instant hit and missiles move very fast. if they can't get...

Is slow travel a contributing factor to the decline of PvP?

I don't find your anecdote to prove anything. One server is not proof, IMO - especially without stats.

Is slow travel a contributing factor to the decline of PvP?

agreed. it would be less problematic if the dynamics favored smaller, more economical ships more. everyone on server would be generating less lag most of the time. this is one of the reason i believe that adding a fuel dynamic that makes size cost will improve overall game performance.

Read by Schine Audio: Theme Music

This will be met with a lot of "impossible!"s, but as far as audio wishlists go (because I know an audio overhaul is in the works) I think ships and/or-at-least stations should be able to play uploaded music within a certain distance or sector. The game is largely a social affair anyway, and I...

Set Course for Home Base Button in Faction Menu

For new players. In the FACTION:NEWS tab where home base is displayed, you could stand to have a button there letting players one-click set course for home base even if they haven't yet saved a waypoint for it.

      Flying station

      That's pretty cool!

Is slow travel a contributing factor to the decline of PvP?

There are a lot of issues hindering PvP, but travel tedium is what always comes to my mind first. Vanilla jump & warp values are absurd. The entire point of a tech like jumping is inter-stellar travel, but in Starmade it takes the form of a feeble, intra-stellar limp. Either the universe is...

Enemy bases in claimed territory should drain faction points.

Thank you for the update, Bench. You're on point as always. And do ask them to mull over this suggestion - it's an abstract concept, but I think that allowing conscious and deliberate sieging of factions needs to happen in some form or other. The more complex a strategy required the better...

Yeah I was in a hurry and can't fix it now XD Spy satellites would be useful, but I think the main benefits would be 1) broadening the scope of gameplay to a more strategic level and 2) slashing the tedium of running internal errands (back and forth between your own ships, stations and planets).

Enemy bases in claimed territory should drain faction points.

something like 10 or 20 per tick per hostile faction might work. encourages joining larger teams as well, since a 1-2 man faction wouldn't hold up very well without constantly being online or having good alliances.

Enemy bases in claimed territory should drain faction points.

I like the OP suggestion, but consider - stations only cost 50K now. I can fly into a system and drop 20 stations right after someone logs for the night and by morning they'll have lost thousands of FP. It's a brilliant solution, but needs strong controls or will be a trollfest.

      Breach Sensor

A sensor/button block that would activate if ANY homogeneous, connected block was destroyed. E.G. A slab of grey standard armor loses a block to a cannon strafe, breach sensor activates, a linked blinky-light signal turns on in the cockpit (and in view of primary exterior cam :). Perhaps the...

Brainstorm This #The Solution to Economy - The Exchange

Someone has read it. They won't comment. I've been nagging them to fix the two tiny, simple-as-hell bugs with shops for like a year now. They never comment on trade/economic issues. There's a separate setting button for Buy price and Sell price, but they don't stay different if you set them...

      'Rines

NPC Space Marines! Am I right?! NPCs are coming, just realized that if I could have ONE kind of NPC on my ships it'd be a squad of ultimate badasses with armed with lasers, sniper rifles, rocket-launchers and sharp sticks to repel or at least delay boarders. Even better if I can send them to...

Combined Core and Rail Docker for rail based elements.

I like the OP concept. No new block though please - just allow cores to raildock.

Thank you everyone for the responses! The "family" approach is something that has occured to me as well, Sturm - especially if new family members can be created over long periods of time and preserving them gives the edge of a player being able to "be" in more places at one time (especially if...

What type of StarMade gamer are you?

I do a lot of high-efficiency building with secondary RP options, and kind of enjoy the less polished industrial look I've developed. The whole point of my high-efficiency builds is PvP, I'd love to be doing more PvP but support for that is still rather weak. Plus most players just hide at base...
