      Steam Achievements

What's a Steam Game without Steam Achievements? Let's give the dev team some ideas. (Maybe only possible on certain, official, public servers?) Examples: first 100-m ship (100 meters long in any dimension): Lt. Long first 200-m ship: Cpt. Ovindustry first 300-m ship: Maj. Chon Struktion first...

Pirate Stations Everywhere! (AKA Steep learning curve)

This might suggest that the game should start up with a list of tutorials, so new players can jump right in to start understanding the game.

      in game sclable holographic signs

It might work to request a single animated decoration block. This way, you'd get a single advertising-type block. Maybe you could ask for 8 of them, one for each color. If there were 8, you'd have enough for a single, large 4x2 array or multiple smaller advert blocks. Then you can replace the...

      Computer Stats

That NVidia Quadro sounds like the bottleneck. Quadros are generally good for digital 2D drafting, but 3D gaming is generally more intense. I use a 8500 GT. Fortunately, NVidia graphics cards are finally starting to slowly drop in price after a long period of stagnant prices. (Curse you...

      Lock Target Key

I kind of agree, but I think it would be a better game mechanic to lock-on by keeping the selected target within a certain cone angle of your crosshairs for a couple of seconds. That way, no button-press is needed, and you generally want to lock onto whatever is in your crosshairs anyway. Once...

      Compressed Rock Hull

I'm disagreeing with compressed rock, thinking it will use up too many block IDs, and nobody will agree on how useful the new blocks will be and what they should do. I'm on-board with recycling factories that change a bunch of unwanted block types into a wanted one.

      Time for Tricorders

For RP, it would be great to have an array of personal-usable objects like tricorders. It would be extra fun if they are animated in multiple different ways. I can see personal tricorders doing the work of "block diagnostics". Instead of creating an animation cycle on a computer block like I am...

      Crafting Reclaimer

No need to worry about "thermonuclear pattern rearranging". Nanobotic rearranging of atoms to create different molecules wouldn't be quite so dramatic, and does not violate any known laws of physics. It will still probably take a significant power intake. This concept assumes that blocks...

      Decisions.

I believe that a big part of being a moderator is being able to let negativity slip, like water off a duck's back. You'll need to be sure you can walk it off. If you can't, you'll walk off the job instead. That goes for many things, really.

      Let's Play Battleship

Yeah, it would need to be a server-configurable minimum damage rating (maybe 2 mil as a default), with a server-configurable cool-down between replays (maybe 60 seconds).

      Let's Play Battleship

I am thinking that StarMade could use a "replay" function. Primarily, a 3D game is highly visual, so not being able to see the damage would be less than exciting. A close-up replay of the damage done would go a long way towards making a long-distance attack more fun. Such a replay function would...

Things the community thinks is needed before the steam release

I think NPC quests would be a good thing for all the new players. Beginning quests could auto-start some of the tutorials in-game, so that the tutorials feel more game-native to new players.

      needed features for quest making.

I love Space Quest. Let me know if you'd like me to go ahead and put wedges onto my "Aluminum Mallard" (available in Community Content). It would be a simple, straight-forward upgrade. (It's all blocky right now, because it was one of my first ships, before I was able to get more wedges.) My...

Option to save screenshots as jpg

It's been a long, long time since I used it, but I seemed to remember IrfanView on Windows (only on Windows) had a killer multi-file converter that worked very well.

      Air?

For this game, where someone could build any kind of structure they want, air just seems way, way too complicated to be properly implemented. Fluid dynamics is pretty much a hardcore computer simulation unto itself. If you have ideas for how to integrate it (like the air envelope idea above by...

"Pulse" activation, in addition to "Toggle" activation. (For Logic Blocks)

It would be a boon for smaller structures with logic, such as fighters. I'm always looking for ways to save block space for other systems. (Could always use another shield block!)

      systems worth fighting over

I think this sounds like a lot of fun and would go well with my idea to have players spawn in different random galaxies across the universe, so that the initial spawn point (2,2,2?) doesn't get overpopulated, and so that griefers can't necessarily spawn-kill the same player over and over again.

      Jay's Engineering Journal

Ah, yes, the Leopard CV uploads are done. The cost for either blueprint is approximately 1.28 million (as of version 0.017). There is the classic, unshielded version: http://starmadedock.net/content/leopard-cv-dropship-unshielded.1752/ And then there is a (slightly) shielded version for those...
