    well, take this for example, I can start on a tiny ship, and within a day, have collected enough resources, sold them, and made enough money to buy the parts for a titan, or galaxy class ship. and yet you don't think that it's too creative geared? that a joke. also, the whole engine for the game is poorly optimized

    Creativity is the one strength of Starmade.
    Take that away and I might as well play a non-voxel space shooter; it'll be better in every other aspect EXCEPT the joy of flying around in my own creation.

    Perhaps you've got the problem backwards; It could be you who just doesn't enjoy a creativity oriented game.

    WOW, one more person, that doesn't explain their lack of focus, and lack of help, THE GAME IS DYING, the game averages to have less than 100 people online global any time of day, I'm not saying that the only reason it's dying is because of so few devs, but, it doesn't help. if you have ideas to breathe life back into the game, please, give suggestions besides what I mentioned, because, that's what it needs rn, or, mark my words, it WILL DIE
    The developers themselves don't plan to let the game die dude. Don't act petty after-the-fact. They know what they doing. Currently overhauling the old and in with the new. You can't accept the new meta? GTFO like the other players from p2.0 have done. The players who are still here during p2.0 and w3.0 are the hardcore starmade fans such as myself.

    If you're into hard farming then maybe. You know, shops doesn't have a lot of money, so to make your giant titan you'll need :

    1. giant factories, so a LOT of mining,

      OR

    2. to find a LOT of shops, not only for the money but for the blocks too
    Then you'll still have a good fun time trying to remember how much blocks you need for each one in your blueprint, without any help so you basically have to buy the good amount manually for each type of block.

    Even if you have your titan, what will you do with it ? If you beat too much dudes they will send you some real PvP and then you'll lose because they'll be much more experienced than you. And you'll learn from that.

    I prefer this kind of learning than a dumb high farming curve which is pretty boring.

    Seriously, if I just wanted to play a space shooter, I'd be back on Eve: Valkyrie on my PSVR, do it all in 3D.

    I may be a little off-Topic here, but it seemed like a good place to bring it up and ask for help.
    It seems "my little problem" just got worse with the new Update.
    Yesterday the server would not stop freezing due to colliding asteroids, (only 2).
    "my little problem" was not this extreme before the update.
    Usually... log ->relog until the server got it under control, or a lot of the time, if I was active, I could jump there and delete the bad asteroids.
    No chance at all yesterday, I had to go into the Database folder and deleted them manually (I hope the DB does not go corrupt!).

    I Admin the Let's Kautsch (German Server), I'm no Technician, Programmer or Starmade Pro...
    I kind of landed in this position by chance.

    Our Galaxie was created with 0.200.334
    Colliding Asteroids has been an Issue for a long time, and is, in my opinion a game breaking problem.

    Yes - Asteroid Physics is turned off (did not help)
    No - Respawn is not off (it did not help)

    I believe this is a "growing pain" because the Galaxy is new, the sectors have never been populated.
    The problem I have is not the respawn but the Initial Spawn (I have witnessed up to 3 Duplicates of one Asteroid)
    If that is not enough, in the adjacent Sectors the same thing, Duplicates everywhere.
    Logically this causes a ton of lag and if not handled, the server freezes.
    I believe the problem is not as severe on older servers, because most sektors have been touched over time.

    I understand that there are Scripts to handle these things.
    I understand they may have to be re-writen with each Update.

    What I do not understand is the why.
    There is no easy / central source for "Game Saving Help" to obtain such tools.
    As if it all needed to be kept under the carpet... that doesn't happen on our Server ^^

    I also understand that Starmade is in Alpha, but if this "Game Breaking" problem is not important enought to recieve the needed attention (server Freeze)... then...

    1. Is my problem an Isolated Issue that may just be connected to the generated Galaxie, i.e. bad seed?

    or

    2. Is this a widespread problem and everybody but me has the script?

    and

    3. Why is there no central section here, by SMD, devoted to assisting people like me, devoting freetime to keep this game running on a server, trying to keep the community alive, where veteran and new players can play, online, together?

    That was rather the point, yes. The creativity and ability to build anything you want is the main draw of Starmade. Limiting or taking that creativity away means its just a really crappy attempt at a ship based shooter, which there are MANY games of that do it MUCH better.

    I really hope some options to counter high speed ships are added. Tractor beams simply do not cut it, they simply don't have the range needed to make their use worthwhile.
    Agreed, the range is not working well on the field...
    and the toggle seems to not always function properly, (switching between modes).
    The bummer though, as it is no longer an Effect (Stop Effect) and therefore requires an extra slot on the hotbar = can't shoot and hold at the same time.
    Yes this can be acomplished with logic of course, but then you have a continuos On state and once fired it needs to be stopped to refocus or change modes... this is cumbersome.

    The old Effects were good the way they were. (IMO)
    They could have just expanded on it to include EM/Therm/Kin

    Update: did I miss something... or can we no longer activate weapons via Logik (OR/AND)?
    ok got it cleared up Logik+Comps is not working...correct = it seems its invisible Ö.ö

    This seems to be fixed in vo.201.133

    I like the update, though The following added server commands don't seem to exist:
    • /bp_info [BluePrintName] (populates information about a specific blueprint)

    • /delete_bp [BluePrintName] (deletes a specific blueprint)

    • /bp_setOwner [BluePrintName] [PlayerName] (sets a blueprint to be owned by a specific person)

    Anyone else having issues with missiles deciding not to cause damage? It seems like the first shot or two works as normal, then nothing but pixie dust con-trails that leave the targets unscratched.

    EDIT: I almost forgot--warheads no longer work? I get the little "poof" graphic when they are activate or shot, but they no longer explode?

    More or less. They probably will be scrapped in favour of bomb.

    After years of endless alpha without a hope of release, of overhauling same systems over and over until NOTHING is working as it should, after losing and finding The Vision™ of this game many a time, you'd have to be an utter pea-brained idiot to have any faith in these developers.
    Granted, there are plenty of those on the forums, whiteknighting until their hands are numb from angry typing and reporting dissent.

    There is literally nothing wrong with having no faith in developer or holding no hope that their project ever succeeds.
    I'm just enjoying it while it lasts, that way I can handle the disappointment each update brings and bear witnessing the remarkable display of stupidity, as Schine happily jumps on the same rakes again and again, thinking that maybe this time it won't hit them in the face.
    Starmade's time has long since passed. Even if it was released in a year with all mechanics fixed and working, it would still lose to it's successors that, at the very least, don't use the friggin' Java.
    There is nothing we can do, but accept it's eventual and inevitable passing and have fun, making fond memories of it to look back at with a smile.

    Back on the subject of this thread, sorta.

    +1 to long-range tractor beams. I'm still intrigued by this idea of using a combination of huge tractor beam turret and free target warpgate that throws people into the sun. Silly gimmick or an effective defense? Only the time, and a few insane builders, will tell.

    Yeah no, Mines are meant to replace Warheads.
    I wasn't talking about mines I was talking about fiscal missiles. A lot of us have built ships with missile tubes, racks, and other systems for using Warhead armed drones, may of them are quite ingenuous. I would hate to see that ability lost.
