VFA-6 Alpha Fighter

    VFA-6 Alpha Fighter 1.1

This is a WIP VFA-6 Veritech Alpha Fighter from Robotech. It still needs some work but I couldn't resist sharing it with the community now that it works. A lot of the ship is still hollow and needs shields/power/trusters etc. I also need to build a couple cannons for it to hold. I'd also like to move/rotate some of the cores to make assembly easier and I need to add some of those blue pickup rails because sometimes things undock for no reason. I'd also like to move some of the logic so the wireless links are all easily accessible.

Here's the ship in fighter mode.

And here we see it in battleoid mode.

And here we can see it transform!

In order to pilot the ship you first get in by opening the cockpit with the buttons on either side. The cockpit itself isn't where you actually pilot the ship from but it has a teleporter you use to access the core. From the core you need to inherit thrusters in order to fly. I have inner ship remotes set up for a small auto jump drive, some swarmer missiles, and the transformation sequence. To go from fighter to battleoid the order is 1,2,3,4 and to go from battleoid to fighter its 4,3,2,1. Don't initiate the sequences too quickly or things can jam up. The final version will have a single button you need to press and the transformation will be automatic from there.

If anyone has any suggestions on improvements I could make or just has some cosmetic changes they want to show me I'd love some feedback. I'd also love to eventually see a bunch of these with different heads, paint jobs, and guns.

    GG! I like it!
    This is absolutely incredible.
One of the coolest things I've ever seen on Starmade and without question the best mech!
it's too bad making an effective to-scale transforming fighter is pretty much impossible with how starmade works. irregardless, nice build especially considering those limitations
This is incredible man! I saw it and was like, "That's a neat ship... Oh wait, that's a mech... Mother of..." *clicks download*

    Really cool; nicely done
when i first saw this i thought i must have forgot my glasses, then i saw the gif and as like
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! and somehow tossed my glasses across the room!
i wonder if it would be possible to have it go to Gerwalk/Guardian mode also.....

is there, perhaps, an SDF-1 in the works? full and/or half scale? hint hint wink wink

Guardian mode is possible but would require an extra joint at the waist, more mass enhancers, and more logic. I want the ship to be capable of combat so I'd rather use that space for more shields.
great job , very nice build
Stunning. Absolutely amazing build. Features very good use of what can be accomplished with the rail system in the game.

Thanks. Showing off what we can do with rails and logic was the main reason I wanted to build something like this. I just wish the game was a little friendlier when it comes to chain docking.
I wasn't actually able to get it in game because it doesn't seem to be in sment format. But it looks cool here on the page...

Sorry. It's actually my first time posting a ship here. I've put the .sment file up now.
