Welcome to | The Union of Intergalactic States

The Union of Intergalactic States is a democratic union of like-minded factions who serve and promote the common cause of peace and prosperity.

    Who are | We?

The Trident Foundries is a large and diverse shipbuilding and military faction with plenty of combat experience and specialised warships to boot.

Trinova, formerly known as NFD, is a highly experienced and technologically advanced faction. Their goals are to educate and benefit the universal community. Trinova fields formidable warships in battle.

RedEagle is an incredibly diverse faction that includes both incredible ship building and extremely specialised millitary actions (RESS). The faction also offers a mercenary service to its allies

The Aethi Imperium are an old and wise faction. With a very unique style and powerful weaponry, they are a force to be reckoned with.

    What do we | Do?

Our goals are simple: Have fun, respect each other and other players, and, did I mention, have fun?

Our charter: Union of Intergalactic States

    How do I | Join?

If you're joining as a member, please see the respective faction's recruitment threads.

If you're a faction leader looking to join the alliance, please post your interest on this thread.

I wish you luck with this endeavor.

After reading this, I would like to bring to your attention that a few similar organisations and pacts have broken up which were similar, involvind DFN, NFD, TNT and co. Whilst this is not a slight to TNT's leadership, what I am curious about, is how this alliance will be different from many other similar coalitions in the past which broke apart.

    United Elwyn Factions-Dead.
UPF-Drafted proposition of alliance simiar, Dead.
    N.O.R-Dead.
    Ares Coalition-Dead.
(I am sure there are others, I have spent 20sec skimming through records)

    In contrast:
OAS-Still alive, but is military pact compiled of military factions in authoritarian leadership regime.
OP-Still alive, but is military pact compiled of military factions in authoritarian leadership regime.

    Conclusion:
I do not believe in pacts nor in agreements as such, however I believe that agreements such as triumvirates or shared power would only work when all subsidiary factions are authoritarian, so there is no conflict of opinion and greater work efficiency.

    ANNOUNCEMENT

We are temporarily shutting off faction recruitment. If you are interested in applying to be a part of this alliance still, private message any of the faction leaders here with your interest.

Jake_Lancia Be sure to change the faction's flag (if the people have voted to change it) to whatever flag was chosen in last week's referendum.

Whilst as far as I am aware the Order is not considering being part of this 'alliance', why are you shutting of faction recruitment? Do you not want other factions to join this 'union of intergalactic states'?

    Another point to address:
Alliances are pretty useless when there's nothing to be allied against. The issue is no one has the balls to be the 'bad guys' without going full on comic book villain.
Now somebody will mention Odium Pact potentially. But, I see no answer to ObiShawnKenobi's question...
    Will this alliance challenge Odium?
Is that a yes or no?

If a faction or alliance grows too big too quickly, it can cause considerable problems for all involved. See: Terran Gossamer Technocracy, Children of Kerensky, for example.

    Simple answer: Yes.
Long answer: We exist to keep the galaxies safe for players. That involves defending those who cannot defend themselves from people who would do them harm.

Forgive me for this modern approach of replying with an image or a quote to express my opinion on this issue.

I don't think the downfall of either of those alliances was because of rapid growth.

I think TGT went inactive and CoK disbanded after an Odium spy triggered a series of internal conflicts and their only hope of defeating Odium was destroyed by a Vaygr ship half its size.

Too many people in it weren't team players. Linwe ran off solo with the ship that was being built by Wildcat and CynicalCatalyst as a fleet's tank vessel, TE left because of CoK's internal issues caused by spies, Thryn just sorta sat there continuing trying to build up its own fleet with totally insufficient resources just as it had before CoK popped up, ARK dropped out after spying was discussed, etc.

The whole thing was just management error after management error and everything they managed to do could have been done better 100% solo.
