Well, whatever other comments there are, I think this is a nice start to make the game startup have a more 'professional' feel.

With all the planned game mechanics in the pipeline I'm not that bothered with the in-game menu style used when selecting the initial options. I'm sure that will change after all more important gameplay features are implemented.
As for longer startup times others mentioned, I can't say I've experienced that. Over all it seems the same as before. Exiting the game to desktop is also immediate as before, but, as a single player aficionado, I haven't tried what happens when going back to the main menu yet.
EDIT: Gave exit to main menu a try, and that's almost instant too. This is in a new world, so I don't know what happens in a more populated world. Creating another world and pressing play in the menu works fine too. One note when you exit to main menu after this this menu were you created the new world in is still open. One would expect it to be closed after pressing play so you would return to an empty main menu.
All in all, good work again guys, keep them coming.
