I wonder if there is a way to "trick" the game into allowing more hull colors without needing the extra ids much in the same way minecraft handled their ID limit. From what I understand Minecraft used the damage value of blocks as a sub id which would essentially just allow the game to have...
I STRONGLY do not support halving the HP just so you can get two wedges every time you split a hull block. This will directly punish any ship that isn't a cube or all 90 degree angles.
It's something I have to test. Start two variants of the game, create a faction, leave one run, log off the other one. After a week check to see how many points each faction has.
When suggesting new weapons you have to ask yourself several questions.
How is this weapon differentiated from the others?
Can this weapon be simulated using the current system of slaves and effects?
How would a slave of this weapon effect other weapons systems?
The current system with have...
Wow good job, I couldn't even tell this was the pixel version and not just an image of default.
Looking forward to seeing the rail design. It's an external block so it has to mesh well with all hull types and colors, not an easy task.
Well real time = you don't play for a week therefore are not considered active and therefore don't get as much faction points and may loose territory while technically not even playing. I don't know if the game just looks at the date when you last logged in and compares it to the current date...
Gravity will only respond if triggered by an area trigger next to the activator linked to the gravity or the activator you yourself click use on. I believe it is this way because after a single step in the logic chain the game has no way to determine who is responsible for said gravity...
What he said ^^^
I don't care if you only get the spiffy rail features such as movement and rotation if you are using both blocks. I can more than live with just getting static docks when no receiver is present. It would essentially be the old system but using the mass limit style enhancers...
I don't think there is no reason game-play wise two blocks absolutely have to be touch in order to dock. As long as you can prove your ship will fit in the dock before actually docking. This should be able to be achieved by getting the perceived docking block up next to the dock. You get the...
... and those ships shake every time they get shot, you would think the shuttles would get tossed like the crew...
I don't know about gravity docking. Honestly I think that it should require any special blocks. When you use the cores docking beam as apposed to one of the docking receivers the...
Sadly it doesn't work with AI yet or transfer of power. From third person this system is freaking great, I thought it was completely buggered when I went to record as I wasn't looking at it from the point of view of the pilot... just thinking to myself "Great what did I break now!"
LoL, man I wanted to do a nice cinematic showing off the new turret mechanic... but this happened
They movement of the base doesn't move yet in multi-player.
Yeah I am really looking forward to the new docking and logic capabilities. The cobra bays from Babylon 5 are amazing and I will love to see creations like that. Of course I am still pushing for the "old style" of central core docking to be a thing still. I know there are some ships out there...
I took a different approach myself. My Lark MK1 has an efficient jump drive on it, but the craft is not big enough to power it, so I made a dock-able reactor that can power it. I will have to rebuild this reactor once the new docking mechanic comes out as before it was just kind of an ugly...
I thought this was already a thing. I know Raiben made one.
Of course if you mean being able to dock a jump drive to your ship and being able to control it... probably not. I doubt the slave will control the master in that fashion (docked ship getting control over the mother-ship). It...
Only in Japan. I do at least want fighter elevators on my larger carrier but this does sound like an interesting challenge
You know fixed docking is a thing right? That these docks can also use AI and shoot? The last ship I built is nothing more than a frame for mounting two independent...
I use docked entities as fixed independent guns, usually housing missiles. Should these get full shields as well as they are a major offensive aspect of some of my ships.
