I know there is no true random in computers but a programmed pseudorandom output would be much better than anything we can do in game. Redstoner engineers create random variables in Minecraft by exploiting the random nature of dispensers, we don't have anything to bend to our will like that...
So there is no way to do any kind of true random output in Starmade logic. The best we can do as far as I know is simulate a random output based on the timing of clocks but this only works with a manual input as any timed circuit will always have the timing match at some point.

I personally think we need a hard counter to heat seekers before anything else gets done with them. Anti missiles turrets have a hard time dealing with swarms so I think a second counter should be in play. They are heat seeking missiles so how about some kind of flare defense.
Back when you still had to add modules for the mass of your turrets and docked ships when using Ion I pushed for them to get the benefit of Ion defense as well. Schema shot the idea down and fixed it so their mass was not in the calculations.

The thing about adding a new weapon is it has to do something distinctly different enough. It can't just be a missile, beam, or cannon with different base stats. They also have to be fairly neutral when it comes to anything that otherwise would be adding lore to the game.

This is my ship for another build challenge. The challenge is to create a small shuttle capable of maintaining a jump drive. Getting past the power threshold for Jump engines on smaller craft isn't always easy. Remember, make it look nice because bricks are boring.

The only way to achieve this would be to remove combat regen entirely. As long as the big ship can regenerate shields a fighter or any significantly smaller craft can never win against the larger opponent.
That would be my Shortsword, essentially the smaller sister to the Longsword. She features a nearly identical array of turrets but since she is a smaller craft her primary armament and defenses are lower.
Also that must be me in the blue shuttle back there.
