I suspect we might need the HP system for this. How do you "kill" a core-less ship part? will they just float around after disconnected from a ship? Or perhaps they go into "over-heating" when they are disconnected or the rail docker is lost.

I still firmly believe we need a fixed docking block to give us some of the functionality we will lose once the old system is discontinued. Rails could set up to pass docked entities to the fixed dock to be launched with logic.
You know you can detect the carts position with activators next to the rail so you don't need to use area triggers. Last time I messed with area triggers entities docked to rails didn't even set them off at all.
Yeah 2 way wireless blocks didn't kill my world at all, but it seems wireless logic only works with manual input for now as activator -> wireless block does not send the signal to the next wireless block.
