Faction/Personal permissions update = Stolen homebases?

How else do you want new rank 4-5 members to be able to use this block while the entity as a whole is for (co)leaders only? And giving permission to rank 4-5 is the same as giving it to public.

      Hull vs Adv Armor

Because of size. Sometimes you want a sleek ship to fit into docking area or through Gates. Or you want extra hp near important computers to give them a little bit more protection than the decorative volume has. But the HP don't really matter as long as it's easier to have a shield > 30% hull...

Faction/Personal permissions update = Stolen homebases?

But if you enable a build block for public use, wouldn't it's users also be able to remove the faction-block itself and add a new one? And can you not use warheads which ignore shields to remove the faction block too? It's part of a bigger problem and I don't really see a solution as long as...

Entity "On Enter"/"On Exit" zone logic blocks

Just look if the area trigger or activation block has a NOT block next to it. NOT makes it trigger on exit.

Is there any reason to build small ships?

Think about all possible 1-man craft. Then add a cockpit + 1 toilet and 2 sleeping bunks you have to share when carrying 4 peoples. Don't add a dining room, use a 1x2x2m for storing and cooking food. This RP-space then takes about 10% of your ship or less - the rest being energy, weapons...

      USS Sao Paulo (Defiant Re-fit)

It would be nice if shuttle bays were a bit larger. Some time ago, I've build a 17x 8y 21z Puddle Jumper - (width=11x if retracted) at least the main bay should be big enough for that - other bays could be about the size they are now, because for me drones are smaller than shuttles. Maybe it...

Faction/Personal permissions update = Stolen homebases?

Just NO. How else do you want to make your Warship you yourself bought grief-resistant against an faction-member who wants to try out your stuff and has a rank higher because he is a week in it and you a day? Make different faction permission levels for doors, gravity, computers...

      Point Defense Turrets For Warheads

You can use push-cannons on trigger them when a torpedo undocks, the rail sends a nothing-docked signal (with a not-gate) after it had something docked. The new rail system allows for new torpedoes to move in and thus even less blocks spend on the push-weapon. Wireless allows to trigger...

Is there any reason to build small ships?

Yes, but flying many small ships doesn't give you the feel of owning something as valuable as the ship you can easily blow up. Maybe with the advent of teleporters it changed. You may use them to connect your ships to a single interior. Nobody has done it jet (and it would cause a lack of...

      The 20-sided planet?

I've said 1/2 landmass, 71% was the radius. It's obvious when you divide the same surface-area over nearly 2x as many cubes. Personally I prefer the ones with 18 rectangles and 8 triangles or perfect cube-worlds - or whole different planets with building-sites and otherwise high-map-based terrain.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

It is a good video, but your moving-over with the camera is a bit annoying. I worry about the rail-blocks being the drone's weak spot. Your video shows the right section being lost with the rest rather intact at some point. Although this might be negligible when NOT fighting against missiles...

Entity "On Enter"/"On Exit" zone logic blocks

With these you cannot count how many entities are inside an area. The first player entering may activate, the second player deactivate, though there is still a player in that area (doors might close with a player inside).

      New-(More useful)- pulse weapon.

Pulse/Cannon - constant low-power spray, like a flamethrower - ideal for LAG Pulse/Pulse - longer reload time, higher damage output overall - it's the range which makes pulse ineffective! (or OP if buffed) I could say more, but I think I've said enough to make your post look like from a 1-month...

Homebase Adjustment: Only invincible when offline

You can't defend if someone tries hard enough to kill your home-base when you don't have protection any longer. "While online" also means if you are on a mining trip and a half galaxy away. Imagine a cloaked ship with explosives rail-entities undocking them into the defensive-turret's...

Is there any reason to build small ships?

Funny how 20 point-defence turrets lag the server and then someone suggests 200 to 300 drone entities. Depends on the size of drones. "Drones" itself just means "unmanned expendables". In my post I mean "drones to defend a ship from having it's weak spots exploited", not "drone-spam to overwhelm...

      Rhombicuboctahedron Planets?

Um, what? I meant 4m or 8m. If I would have meant 1/2, I would have wrote 1/2. Ships need to be smaller OR planets bigger. I think it would be good to have differently sized blocks depending on how close you look at them or how big the entity is. Space-engineers does it right, but does not use...

      AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!Space Engeneers have better planets!

I read false statements! Rendering is all about sorting out visible from non-visible in the final step. The performance depends on the level-of-detail and how many objects you can sort out before doing depth-tests of triangles, pixels and block-faces. Rendering is already completely...

Is there any reason to build small ships?

What I forgot in my previous post: Ships with turrets need to cover 2 half-spheres (except you use long-reload turrets on a rotating ring "©by NeonSturm"). Most turrets however are blocked by the ship's wings or tower and cover more or less 1/4 of all directions. This means that any attack...
