      Faction points and capital ships

Anything attempting to classify a wide range of ships is prone to failure. I can't see server owners ever using it due to the nature of everyone having their own classing system almost, aside from RP-like servers that used a system uniformly. "Capital Ship" as a name is already taken anyways...

      Shields and turrets

A fighter might not be able to sink the aircraft carrier, but it can drop destroy the planes on it's deck and potentially pop a weapon off the deck (I assume Carriers have some AA defence). Destroying a turret does not sink the ship, it just hinders it. No one wants a fighter to sink a titan...

Recognized Make ship's weapons not go through the ship

Which is ugly as sin with some design styles.

Suggestion More filtering options for Community Content

I mean that if tags are to be assigned by the uploader, we'd need a way to remove tags that do not belong. I.e., someone tagging their ships with all tags to get more attention. May or may not be relevant depending on the tags chosen. I personally don't think I have the influence/wording...

Suggestion More filtering options for Community Content

Manual tags would work fine, so long as false tags can be removed via some system. I suppose coming up with tags could be complicated, could always start a poll/thread asking the community what kinds of tags they would like.

      Hangar Bay Bug?

If you do that, I'd recommend pressing C on the core and unlinking the computer, just so it doesn't show up in the weapons tab.

Suggestion More filtering options for Community Content

Just wondering if we could a "Tag" system for Community content, similar to steam's listing for games. Just different player chosen tags to help sort stuff, like PvP, RP, interior, Mass classes (just 0-500, 501-1000, cause sometimes you just want small ships), carrier, drones. It's hard to look...

Random sector jumping when intering S with large ship

This is an old issue, I think it might be due to desync from lag maybe? I say desync because when you change sectors during the warping, your speed will spike as well, making it seem as though you were flying off in that direction at full speed. Used to happen to me awhile ago when entering a...

Recognized Make ship's weapons not go through the ship

I don't like it, mainly because it removes the idea of arranging outputs, though it does promote sniping it is a useful mechanic, especially if you can find and shot out the computers. It also would have isses with shot convergence, as shots may angle through more bits of the ship. It's...

Rejected New approach to the concept of blocks

My favourite part was; followed by a fairly long idea that sounds like the very arrangement of blocks would have to be changed. I could be and you meant that each 'current' block would have to be constructed with these parts within, then shipbuilding becomes tedious beyond belief (Ignoring the...

Can't place block. "Area not initialized yet"

it means that 16^3 area of block is not prepared for loading or something. Happens sometimes if you build into too many new segments at once. If you turned off Lighten mode, it should be pretty black there as well. -Reload the sector (quit single player), -Could build around it (I find placing...

      Planned Creative Mode

Select the shop as an admin and use /shop_infinite, everything becomes free (even spawning blueprints, similar to admin load). You can also toggle off AI spawn in the configs or by removing all of their ships from 'enemy usable'. Protect sector is also useful in that regard if they need to be...

      Future of Starmade?

I think he is talking about all the mandatory-crew, min-max'n, give-everything-a-purpose kinda suggestions. The suggestions I've seen him active in are the ones that give combat boosts for having crew/certain setups/etc, that kinda thing. All skill in the game currently comes from the...

      Capital ship core.

People are already aware that they will be hindered (whether or not they can move at all depends on what systems you put on it), and people are generally okay with it. Stations are the thing currently in danger of losing value, since capital ships would still retain a Hyperdrive for movement.

I'm sorry, but that's their god damned right. It's their server and they can edit the values however the fuck they want. Don't like, go find a new server, but don't bash on a server because you don't like their settings. Changes to faction point gain/loss requires a change in the config...

Allow turrets to fire straight (90 degrees) "up"

Adding turrets in more than 1 area can help cover blind spots. Part of piloting is to make sure all guns are in range whenever possible. But yeah, the option to have turrets point straight up (or even fold over backwards for that matter) would be nice.

Some suggestions to make the game even better!

Belonging in General > Classing systems are irrelevant I find, people make ships from different lores and with different styles. Someone once said it was like all Sci-fi universes combined into 1 with dozens of "cannon" classing systems. The mix-match of class is actually quite nice though, it...

My speculation on HP implementation and why it will be awesomesauce

I would have to take a swing at some issues here. Firstly, shipyards are planned, and that is how ships will ideally be repaired in the future. I don't know if the exacts of a damaged block will change, but throwing down large chunks of hull willy nilly would probably run into issues with...

You mean that thread that was more or less debunked by everyone involved? If an admin was involved, he'd have to be in that sector, which he was not, everything else was game mechanics in play. If your gonna support his claim, at least try to back his argument and not just link what can be...
