      Core in the wrong spot

You can go piece by piece as well, copy say a 25x25x25 chunk and paste it on a new ship core, slowly work your way over. I don't know how big your big ship is though, so no idea how long that would take.

      In Developement Shipyard block

This sounds exactly like the already planned shipyards.

      Critical Error problem

Sounds like an error in a sector, clicking repair only fixes the install files, not the database, which is where the problem probably is. Try making a new world and seeing if the problem persists, or if it just that save world.

      Question for the schema team.....

That more or less exists in a way. There is an option in the server.cfg file that makes players drop blocks upon death, but by default it's set to X% of credits I believe.

      Applications of a softcap

I feel like that would come in later updates, like the thrust one for example, ships will be slowed down and most likely lose strafing, but can regain some of their speed and maneuverability at the cost of shields. All of the systems mentioned here are important for any ship, and on larger ships...

      Shields and turrets

It is when you throw out an idea with what seems to be the intention of someone else figuring it out. The point is that PD and other turrets on a large ship can be numerous, what would be considered a reasonable number of turrets on a large ship would be a ridiculous amount on a small ship...

      Applications of a softcap

As almost anyone here should know, power has a 'softcap'. It gains a bonus up to a certain amount based on dimensions, plus a flat rate that continues on to the max (2.14some billion I believe?). I don't often see people complain about this, they complain about power supply and the pitiful state...

      Shields and turrets

That is true with how people currently build ships, but people will exploit what they can. I remember a step design with rows of turrets that was to be part of a ship I never built. Many turrets all designed to be in range when you tilt the ship at a slight angle (coupled with target selected)...

      Shields and turrets

Question for you, based on something else you said; IF turrets and the mothership had shared shields, then the balancing factor would be turret turn speeds, correct? Why would anyone build bigger turrets if the shielding would be the same, and it would turn slower? Damage is linear, so 10...

      Raiben's School of Design

And then suddenly Ra gets a new interior; new rooms, new layout, and most importantly, better hallways. Great video, makes a person think of all kinds of possibilities when you think of a hall as a major roadway, rather than an alleyway.

      Question for the schema team.....

I love seeing people get creative with ingame mechanics, that little chance that something could be used for something entirely different than the intended idea.

      zigB 0.1

A little barbaric, but at least the meat is guaranteed to be fresh. The ship itself could use more variation in it's shape methinks, but is interesting.

      Future of Starmade?

Game is a sandbox, so whatever you'd want ideally >Lua scripting for custom quest dialogue >Custom factions and AI (derelicts would be possible with that) >Shipyards plus a HP system (for hull purpose) >Moving parts in the form of rails/spinning bits >Procedural mobs >Modding >AI fleets (to...

Proof that higher default shield capacitor values would be a good thing

That applies to both sides on this argument, the difference being that some of the people against it have modded their game/altered the playstyle so that it does work for them, whereas those arguing for the change don't seem to have ever tried their suggested change. 2 ad 3 on your idea tend to...

Proof that higher default shield capacitor values would be a good thing

Apparently someone managed to get a power curve on weapons (more power costs for larger groups) using the configs, or I think that's what Zyrr said. I feel like there are a lot of possibilities hidden in that config really, we just need it explained and the options presented. If the blocks were...

      StarSide Blood and Steel Tournament

Ideally, they would use /spawn_entity <BP name> <Spawned Ship name> <faction ID> <AI state> to spawn the ships, thus ensuring that everything is factioned on spawn (I would think anyways).

Proof that higher default shield capacitor values would be a good thing

A quick look through the config tells me that "piercing" is still a valid option for effects; We were already talking about changing the configs anyways, so switching it back to what it was shouldn't be too hard, would require some number play though.

Discussion : How to improve game combat ?

I've yet to get into the crafting, so I know nothing about the rarity of the ores and their impact on ship design, hence I tried to just speak of the numbers.

Proof that higher default shield capacitor values would be a good thing

Rounded to 0? The lowest damage weapon that I know of is the cannon-cannon combo, which requires 2 blocks to even function at 100%, giving it 10 dps, which is 1 damager per shot since it shots 10 times a second. Just increasing that to 4 blocks would give it 2 damage a shot, which is enough to...

Proof that higher default shield capacitor values would be a good thing

The same could be done with reducing the weapon damage to 10% of what it is currently as well. So lets just nerf weapons! Would also give hull and the post-shield stage of a fight more time to show their worth. Reducing weapons has the same effect as increasing shields, but also nets the bonus...
