      OOB Megapolis Competition

This weekend will really be the defining point on whether a new version can be finished by February. I'll update after the weekend, to let you know if I can make it. Edit: Sorry to say there is just too much work remaining for version 2 to be available in time for February. I hope everyone will...

      Recognized Build Mode Flashlight

A flashlight in build mode is definitely "space-y" enough for me to approve. Even if "lighten" mode is fixed, I think a flashlight in buildmode is great along with that.

Is there any reason to build small ships?

This conversation goes a long way towards helping understand how different space combat is from air combat. Without a forced gravity well, bigger is generally better. (Swarmer variation: heavier swarmer drones will generally defeat an equal number of lighter swarmer drones.) With that said, I...

      AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!Space Engeneers have better planets!

Rumor has it that planets will be getting bigger in the future after some optimizations, which might logically lead to thicker plates. Time will tell.

A Few Ideas Related to the Universe

I think a lot of this stuff is in the works. Computers might have a unique ability to make rings look nice at all ranges. If we don't mind if rings are visual only, and don't really affect the universe in any way, they could be rendered entirely client-side, to allow greater detail, especially...

Email changing does not appear to work

Same here. I annually change my e-mail address, and successfully changed my e-mail address on the registry, but there is nowhere to update the website contact information. I have turned off e-mail notifications until this is resolved.

Homebase Adjustment: Only invincible when offline

No, I am implying kicking the annoying player.

Homebase Adjustment: Only invincible when offline

I think this would punish lone-wolf players too much. So I think some math would need to be involved: Reintroduce invincibility if the number of blocks of homebase drop below (players in faction * factor x (server setting?) * 100,000 / factor y (faction points?) ) That way, you can hit their...

      Fleet Control idea

I would like to see a hybrid command/chat interface with other ships, like the space sims of old. (keybind to activate comms) (hotbar disappears and a vertical comm hotbar appears instead.) (First Hotbar: Distance) (Second Hotbar: Health) (Third: Faction Affiliation) (Fourth: Object) (Fifth...

      Sitting on the Core Block

You can display shield and energy numbers on the display block already. Rumor has it that the dev team will ultimately upgrade the Display block to use coding for even more advanced displays.

      Point Defense Turrets For Warheads

I think that AI "missile" targeting mode should simply target "enemy" or "neutral" faction warheads in addition to regular missiles. Bonus: PD turrets will fire on enemy ships that still have warheads anywhere in them, whether they be torpedoes, self-destruct, or general purpose. Warning...

Entity "On Enter"/"On Exit" zone logic blocks

Will the entry/exit stuff still happen with multiple entities? (E.g. Ship 1 has entered and made something happen. Ship 2 shows up and.... Likewise, Ship 2 is there when Ship 1 leaves. Will something happen before Ship 2 leaves?)

      OOB Megapolis Competition

Awesome! Thank you! I was trying to create an updated version by the deadline, but my ambition far outstripped my free time. My hope is that everyone will have fun together on the station.

      Make computers/modules grouped like hulls.

I would actually recommend putting all the computers together in a group, and then all the modules together in a separate group. It would save more space than having computer/module groups, and would slightly reduce the chance of laying down 500 weapon computers instead of modules.

      Recognized Adjustable Rail Rotation

Ball joints with linear actuators might be better suited to generating precise rotations in the game, as illustrated here: Plus, I seem to remember a suggestion thread about ball joints that briefly mentioned that the dev team was interested in implementing ball joints.

What Docking Port Do You Use?

USD-1 As described here: https://starmadedock.net/threads/introducing-usd-type-1-updated.7305/ Example: Edit: Where possible, I'll actually put a ring of standard docks all the way around a port, so you can dock in any orientation needed. Example:

      Custom Bullets

Showing the "Bullet" inside a see-through weapon would be an excellent use of this idea. For cannon bullets, I don't think they would be converted to sprites, but for beams, I think stretching the bullet object out to the length of the beam would accomplish approximately what you are saying...

      Custom Bullets

I was inspired recently by a picture of multiple identical in-game probes in a row. Custom Bullets. How it would work: You would create a ship and dock it and link the dock to the weapon. If the docked ship fell within certain limits (e.g. less than 50 percent of each dimension of the docking...

      Is precise angle control possible?

Maybe Manual control could be a secondary function of the rail-control block, to make the rail kind of a poor-man's turret dock, to make attached entities movable by external force part way through a rotation or partway along a rail. Secondary use: it would be interesting in adventure maps to...

      Discoveries from Pegasus.

I really like the latest load of TG-themed ships in the Community Content. Good job. :)
