      Planned Turret System Control

I think to avoid an overpowered pinpoint attack, I think turret control should only allow barrage fire and not pinpoint fire. That is, the turrets on the hotbar (or linked to the control block, or however they are assigned pilot control) as a whole should point where you aim, but all outputs on...

      Recognized Blast Barrier Block

Maybe you could link them to the kind of block to be blocked. Example: Link the forcefield blocks to a cannon computer to make it stop handgun shots and cannon shots. Link it to a beam computer to stop sniper rifle shots and beam shots. Link it to a missile computer to stop missiles and...

Read by Council Fleet formation buffs

I figure it would be both realistic and fun if fleets gained some sort of minor scanning buff, and that all scan information was shared among all ships in a fleet, to simulate tight-band direct comms between individual ships in the fleet, all sharing their information, while simultaneously...

      Best weapon combination for pirates

I have heard that AI-driven missile turrets with beam secondaries for lock-on functionality still work great.

      Bridge experiment

This idea is worthy of a texture hack, I think. (Where when displays are set up as external cameras, the screen is not actually rendered. Instead, the space around the ship is rendered. The outer edge of each display block is visible, but the screen itself shows outside the ship, as if the chair...

      Planned Wreckage fields

I think the contest was pre-won with the Shangri-La, but here is a list of good candidates from Community Content: What junkyard would be complete without an abandoned muscle car? Super Sport muscle Ship Add a healthy helping of space trucks.... Here... AFW Jupiter Class Frigate - SpaceTruck And...

      How to ship?

Use more slabs! Pop bits out into towers! Use wedges to make small wings! Make flash-suppressor-style gun barrels! Make antenna arrays! Claws! Tentacles! Landing/crash skids! Use wedges to make the ship look like a square balanced on its edge! Use wedges to make the ship look like a diamond...

      Recognized Station Upgrades

This would be an awesome addition to the game to really help draw in players and show them how the universe continues to grow and change, with or without them. Plus, such a mechanic could be adapted to tons of different things in the game. Ships that are gradually built. Cities that gradually...

      Planned EXPLOSIONS

In addition to different-sized explosions based on ship size, I think larger ships should get a procedurally-generated series of explosions that start out as a number of smaller explosions across the surface of the larger ship that you would expect from a smaller ship, and then a new set of...

      Question on Mobs/ Aliens/ NPCs

I imagine that getting the new fleet mechanics working more smoothly will be key towards making NPCs work well enough to implement.

How to have "Decorative" Superficial damage.

I think he's talking about going into battle with undamaged docked-plates that are more easily damaged and disposable than mothership armor. Machinima could make use of rails to flip untouched skins and reveal damaged ones. Anybody ever play with battle-armor He-Man? Same deal.

      Read by Schine Will-O-Wisp Lights?

This would be a great way to recreate some existing designs, especially those ships with very small light ports or track-lighting. Plus, if there were regular light emitters as well as the expected beacon emitters, you could place light wherever you needed it. This is especially useful in builds...

Read by Council Forcefield not solid block now that we have fleets

There is something just so cool about a forcefield conforming to the outer skin of a ship passing through. (as opposed to opening up the whole field like a door) However, to make it work easy in StarMade, we may have to put up with the forcefield passing through all internal spaces inside a...

Yeah, at this point, pirate stations are just summoning bells for pirate ships, which are the real loot source.

If you can change the direction of the effect by changing the orientation of the computer, that would fulfill this suggestion. However, I suspect that you can't change the direction yet.

Read by Council Forcefield not solid block now that we have fleets

The whole point behind a force field is to be solid. However, it would be interesting to hook up doors and forcefields to faction blocks, to allow friendly ships to auto-open doorways as they pass through. And hopefully auto-close it again once they are clear.

Read by Council texture change: wrap system blocks in plates

Nobody has yet chimed in to say they love the look of the old system blocks and would hate if this idea replaced them. They might be out there. Somewhere.... Seriously, if people are using more than one face of system blocks for decoration, I'd be deeply surprised. And if someone gets a plate...

Read by Schine Hailing System (ship to ship voice call)

A beep and a highlight of the navigation diamond would be good enough for me. Similarly, maybe chat could pop up a message saying "player x is hailing you", so you'd know who to contact in chat if you wanted to respond to the hail. It would basically be an in-game nudge system.
