    Bowtie Fighter v1.0

    Game version
    v0.201.126
Neo Echota Drive Yards are proud to present our new experimental disposable fighter for all occasions! This ship is compact, powerful, fast and vicious.

Due to being designed to fit very, very snugly within the flight bays of the Naagloshii Patrol vessel, it's size and shape lend it toward being a no-nonsense, heavy drone or single-pilot fighter for carriers because it may be stacked into large bays like bricks.

Dual-chambered for power, recon and defense, with sensor strength at lvl 4, they will find a target for their powerful dual lock-on kinetic missile tubes, each doing 73,511.9 damage and dual mini-howitzer EM cannons, each doing 1,540 damage, at 4,480 dps with 6-block penetration. The cannons have been tested against Isanth target dummies and reliably penetrated the shields after just 4-6 direct hits. The missiles are an insta-pop for isanths most times. I am excited to report that early combat testing shows that the experimental single, large port-side big-block core, which is chamber-amped to pump out a whopping 16,940 e/sec, remained stable, even after considerable damage had been done to the ship.

The fighter sports chamber-expanded shields with 84,000 capacity, charging at 2,850 hp/sec.

I decided to go give some pirates the finger for full combat testing, then got surprised by an enemy Bowtie fighter and two Isanths! I'd forgotten to change the permissions on the blueprint! lol
I am pleased to say that even so outgunned, I was able to destroy the twin of my fighter and the two Isanths just as reinforcements arrived and forced me to withdraw from the battle. As you can see, the ship was shot clean through in places:

Though considerably weakened and somewhat slowed, it remained combat-capable throughout, sustaining a small running battle during withdrawal until the jump-drive could be charged.

There is a rail-docker on a post underneath by the cockpit hatch with a cluster of mass enhancers for simple belly-docking, but they are purely external, so you can move them easily. The cockpit is mostly armor-isolated from the rest of the ship, with an AI, as well as a crystal-armored camera up front and a narrow, but useful core view, so you'll always be able to see your way into, or out of a fight.

This fighter is all business. No logic to screw with, not much of an interior, just raw power stuffed into as small a package as I could manage. It does not hide. It seeks.

Let these dogs off the chain in even modest numbers on a battlefield and watch them wreak havoc. They can fight until there's almost nothing left. (Faction module not included)

A nice little fighter. Some more hull and cockpit decor won't hurt, though, but since it is declared to be a disposable drone... Guess a plain hull won't be a problem xD

Thank you for the kind words and rating!

A piece of gear can be ugly to look at, but if it works, it's beautiful.

I know it's sometimes not what others like, but to me, functionality is a pleasing aesthetic in and of itself.
My personal measure of success is whether or not the craft I build feel good for people to fly and use for whatever purpose they were designed. A good tool feels good to use.

Since coming back recently after the big updates, I've had to start from scratch on my toolkit of general BPs for all occasions and know I'm not the only one. So as I get them done, I've been trying to post the more interesting and/or functional ones.

Right now I'm working on a largish emergency logistics tug for towing/repairing capital ships, stations, etc.. For that I will most certainly endeavor to add some interior and a little bit of decor. Hopefully it comes out well. :)
