Oh, how could I miss that (whatever 'Skunkworks' is). It's a play on the word Skunkworks.
You could have said that sooner, now I look like a grammar nazi.it's just slang.

Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin's Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, and the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. Currently its main project is the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, which will be used in the air forces of several countries. Production is expected to last for up to four decades. The name "Skunk Works" was taken from the moonshine factory in the comic strip Li'l Abner.
Are those 2 rings some kind of gyroskope? The new ship is based off this cool design I found on DA here.
Actually, while spaceships don't necessarily require wings, you may be interested to know they will require significant radiating surface to radiate waste heat out into space (and, no, you can't just convert waste heat into electricity or some other pseudoscientific magic). So your options are A) radiating fins a.k.a. wings or B) convoluted surface features (greebling) that increases surface area. Since most people at least want the option of crash landing on a planet, those individuals are best served with radiating fins formed into wings. So, yeah, we need to waste some metal on wings in space because they are cool. Literally....I never understand why every second spacecraft gets some wings. Like "hey its space, we have no air, but lets waste some metal one those cool looking side plates coz you know: they look so cool"
But the reactors themselves are powered by pseudoscientific magic.and, no, you can't just convert waste heat into electricity or some other pseudoscientific magic
But if they are for radiating heat, why dont they look like a passive graficcards cooler? Uhm. That dust particle smashing into your ship at high speed has very little surface area. When it does hit, the energy transfer happens in a very, very tiny location. The damage it does is relatively minuscule, however since we require air to breath, even the tiniest crack in cockpit glass is an issue. Not so much on the hull, or in armored areas, though sensitive equipment might not like dust particle impacts at high speed either. But if they are for radiating heat, why dont they look like a passive graficcards cooler? And why do you have that problem with crashlanding on planets, when you have materials that withstand particels crashing onto your ship on 50.000km/h and higher? Even a small dust particle would do a big hole at any speed higher than 1000 km/h.
Also you have a so advanced traveling technology that manages jumps and warps, but dont have some emergency capsules that also can crashland or some engines that are stronger than some gravitational fields?
But I like the links you provided though. Nice thoughts.
Good, but a bit too big/small for me.How would you rate that ship?
Somebody, grab a Donald Trump "small loan" meme!...a small space station that is just under 4000 blocks long...
Not that much for an early access game. This will go on for a year or even longer, because they are adding new stuff. (do you have read: StarMade Active Development Timeline) But I understand that it feels like a lot. Compared to the huge ammount of program Starmade is, it might be not that much if you think about it.I wrote four bug reports. Four. On a single day.
How many bug reports did you write today? Or this week? Not that much for an early access game. This will go on for a year or even longer, because they are adding new stuff. I don't get it why there are no normal conversations anymore. Why are you pissed? I just wanted to talk and said nothing that was offensive. Seriously. How many bug reports did you write today? Or this week?
