    i like it though the actual implementation of fleets still won't let us do stuff with em. i mean my ships guard my stuff pre patch as well without being given the order to do so ... for the turrets ai fired at enemies...
    i really love the rail part returning drones and such... though how about i would like my fleet to consist of a few drone carriers?
    I kinda would wish they implemented the mechanic on a more ship to ship basis. Like ai, this is your docker to return to your carrier. carrier you are guarding this destroyer. destroyer you are guarding this salavge vessel. salvage vessel this is your station docking port, deploy on route when cargo hold empty return to station when cargo hold full. route consists of nav point list X. dear turret you target roids. dear support drone you throw repair nanites at any damaged vessel in your carriers 2 sector proximity...

    Don't get me wrong i appriciate the changes and i know database work is a hassle still i'd hoped it to be more open/flexible.
    I find that the current system is just a lot simpler. However, an order to escort a ship or fleet would basically accomplish what you're wishing for*.

    *Except for AI using astrotech beams, but that is completely and totally pointless anyway and having 'repair nanites' that restore blocks requires... certain things... I dunno if Schine wants to do them or not. With large amounts of ships it'd result in more database bloat if I'm thinking correctly, as each ship would have to store itself twice; once for the real version and once for the undamaged original.

    the current astrotech system is even pointless being used by players which is why we need a change on it. and certain things are already present for example either the blueprint or ( if they should ever properly work) the designs. stuff could be so much easier.
    As said i like the effort but i'd consider a system with more point to point control superiour. but true a escort this other fleet thing might do the trick. maybe management wise it is not so bad just having the fleet menu instead of haveing to figure out which ship was the leading one...

    I'm personally glad that I can set up picket formations and guarding sectors from random attacks when I'm building ships in singleplayer, set a few warships as fleet sentries.

    Did you remember designs in shipyards? And how they said eventually the design would be placed in the core of the ship?

    My solution:
    After a while I found to work with a lot of ideas I had astrotech computers would need to be revised. My idea is that astrotech computers could be hooked up to a storage with blocks. It would use the input design in the ship core(I have heard much talk of this, it would be basically the shipyard design and putting it in the core [leave it to :schema:to find out how]) to replace blocks on the ship. It would have a punch-through beam effect that would heal all blocks in a line(and maybe an area effect too). However, when it placed blocks it would place then with one hitpoint, and AI would replace all blocks in an area(decided by the program? If you piloted it it would do where you pointed it? Give me your opinions) before starting to heal them. This would mean if you got hit by a missile you could call in support drones to heal you, but risk getting hit with another weapon that could be very weak that would destroy all of your newly placed blocks. It would also look really cool, like a scab or something glowing red as repair drones healed it.

    Bit confused about what you're asking. Can't say whether or not we'll continue adding in all the features for fleets over the next release cycle or not, it matters how complex we want to get before moving into getting more NPC / AI faction stuff sorted on our road towards objectives etc.

    this is literally just the first implementation of a brand new system with many more features planned, to quote schema...

    Here here, You want everything all at once, these things take time, and to get the things we want, working the way we need them too, that takes skill, so you have things that take time and skill, you must add patience, if its so important to you, i bet it will be well worth the effort of waiting for it. I for one am very happy with fleets, its a step forward, i spent 5 hours re-designing my ship to have a fighter bay last night, it was a very interesting prospect to have a carrier.

    Nice update I am yet to fully test the fleets and AI crew, AI crew is looking good so far though, but alas my frame rates seem much lower and screen movement is not as smooth as it was, power regen seems nerfed and none of my anti missile turrets are working (edit: all myturrets are being weird, ship and station alike.) and once more still no working pirate waves. Which I guess means universe simulation is still broken also?
    Also when are the in game stations being updated to rails?

    In the video the rail blocks for drones were red, blue, and green but mine are black and grey. I haven`t seen this mention by anyone yet and wonder if I`m the only one having this issues.

    are you sure you are using the right rails?

    Here`s what I see:

    The first one is the red rail block, second blue, and third green
    oh ,that is wierd,I saw something similar from another player,where all equipment is black and grey like that.
    maybe its a same thing. kupu might know

    Juxz .. i would try to redownload ... looks as if the textures you are using are corrupted ... i asume you do use the default texture pack

    Done that, even on the multiplayer server that I play on displays them that way.

    Sorry, that wasn't clear. I meant, will Star made's next update be released with the usual two week schedule?

    Basically, what are you guys planning for the next update?
