Hiya, I'm Scratchmort (name comes from an old in-joke), found out about Starmade about a week ago and really liked the look of it, so here I am! I've always enjoyed sci-fi ship designs, so, when I heard about this game, installing it was a no-brainer. If only I'd found out about this game sooner!

So far I've just been derping around in creative mode building some fairly basic ship designs and just generally enjoying myself, but I'm looking forwards to learning how to build more aesthetically pleasing, efficient and combat-effective designs in time...

anyways, hi everyone, I'm looking forwards to getting involved in the community!

I'm King_Corduroy, I was a member back before the Yogswarm. Came back because I was getting all nostalgic about the old 0x10c forum and Herobrine's Army from back in the day. I was a Ranger with Micheal Seph on NASS (North American Starmade Server) and also lead the short lived Starmade Division of Herobrine's Army before we were destroyed by Zorozeenee and the Vaygr. Not before destroying a few of his ships though and getting him de-modded for abusing his powers. lol

Mainly looking to see if any of the old Pre-Yogswarm people are still here. People like Calbiri, Micheal Seph, and anymore that might remember those days. Sad to see the forum so dead here now, but I guess it was inevitable. Even on the 0x10c side a lot of us still talk regularly but since the game was canceled our original motivation is removed so we just meet up like a group of old friends. lol

Hello! I'm Maramonster, or as I'm more recently known, Cari The Kitty. You may know me from my role as Community Manager of Frackin' Universe a large mod from the Starbound community. If you've been around the internet even longer than most, I was also known as Lacota from the Creatures Community. I was the Team Lead, spriter and programmer for C12DS. A large mod released for the final game in the series, Docking Station.
Outside of those two volunteer roles, I've done QA testing for a number of years for various studios. Being a tester isn't as fun as it sounds, but makes you very good at breaking games.
I've been playing Starmade off an on for a number of years, and after coming back recently with the latest patch, am interested in dipping my toes into the community at large.
I understand that many of the community feel disenfranchised right now, and as a community manager I know how hard that can be for both sides. I hope my skills from other communities can be useful here. If anyone wants to talk Starmade (for better or for worse) feel free to poke me on my discord CariTheKitty#2054. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all, and hope to build some epic things with you too!

Sensor package specialist, electronics hobbyist, robotics enthusiast.

Seeking a group of like-minded people to engage with in goal oriented, success driven, design works for the purposes of learning, documenting, and refining the use of systems inherent in the game. Willing to work hard and document new features, develop best practices, produce exhaustive tutorials for advanced building techniques, and develop advanced internal systems for roleplay and, competitive combat ships.

Introverted but not shy. Works best in groups no greater than four. Able to organize large groups of people effectively and develop organizations by utilizing game theory, military theory and, specialist doctrine theory. Require an executive of communications to delegate negotiations and deployment of new techniques to an organization. This lieutenant should be comfortable working with people and able to negotiate effectively. Politics and negotiating with others is not my strong suit. Planning and designing things (tools, organizations, systems)with a success driven goal focused on self-improvement and adaptability are my strong suits. However, it may be for the best that someone else should implement said systems. Modifying them as needed. I do not do well when talking to large groups of people and worse when trying to explain the plan to them. Not out of any malice but rather generalized social anxiety.

Able to code and develop rapid prototyping software to optimize in-game components of starships to min/max for optimal operating efficiency. Knows Python fluently and, javascript reasonably well. Prefers to engage in games of defensive offense. Capable research and development technician.

I choose Nagas Guardian as my moniker because Nagas are a semi-divine being consisting of the torso of a man and the lower body and head of a snake. Guardian because of my interests in developing and defending knowledge, and sharing the fruits of my labor with others who agree to not use such for ill intent.

Hi. I'm Alpha. I can't really say how proud I am of Schema and this game. I've been a member since the beginning. Back when it was just Schema and Bugbear, and we crashed the first ever server of Starmade with 10 people. Back when the crappiest space station I've ever built was worthy of the Gallery page. Way to fuckin' go guys. Way to go.

I am ClankTheDank, I am just getting started on StarMade. I found this game while looking for a space exploration game that shared the concepts of but WASN'T NO MANS SKY! I hope to learn more about the game and its many concepts, maybe building a reputation within my server. I would like to create a forum for novices such as myself, that is up-to-date.

Only united shall we thrive, especially in the vast expanse of space!

"Say hello to your fellow starmates. Tell us about yourself, how you got here and what you plan on accomplishing in the game. Include some interests, inspirations and goals you have"

    Well, hello everyone.

I got here through a friend who suggested the game to me and I tried it a bit in the f2p and shortly afterwards decided to support it's development by buying it, due to the game being appealing on the design aspect, and logical combinations etc.

What do I want to accomplish? Hm, guess a space empire one day when I find a nice galaxy to..pacify. :D (Probably would have several factions in there so it won't be too easy)

Also designing ships I guess which can do their job but have a visual appealing and functional feel to it. So not only build borg cubes and call it a day but some thought into it of what would make sense, like why would an engine be here and could it even propel the ship forward.

The interior would be part of it and after some trial and error builds I think for now I'll settle to create the basic systems first and then build the actual ship around it as the game has some weird issues for me when it cuts out random chuns from bigger blueprints, like my 250m ship became a 30-ish meter ship after I did the reactor/shield, thrust parts leaving me with a bit of stabilizers, shields and a handful of thursters, oh and 2 AMS turrets which have been in place weirdly enough but aren't docked to anything anymore so it's not only a visual bug.

Hence I'm experimenting with smaller builds now in the 100m-ish size and see what I can achieve.

I Don't think they'll be masterpieces, especially not from a pvp standpoint where every mass point matters, but they should be decent enough to do their job as I initially said.

They'll have quarters, sanitary stuff, galley, brig, etc etc like a starship should have (in reality anyway) so one can enjoy a bit of downtime in the ships too.

Will probably upload finished ones as soon as I feel they're good enough :P (still a bit too boxy for me and details need some work but there's tons of inspiration out there anyway) Oh and the designs won't be copies or recreations but at best derivaties of designs but most lileky a combination of different elements.

And the ships might be modular enough so one could easily expand the "fleet" (or faction) of them too, so like a certain deck height and room dimension in general, would help tons for bigger ships anyway instead of doing each room per hand.

Not sure how deep I want to get into logic but there's some nice things one can do like the logic based charge and fire logic (plus opening the ship front) to fire the doombeam (or basically any weapon I guess), or the (simple) elevators which so far have only up/down and call buttons on each floor but no door opening or interference checks, but that shouldn't be too big of an issue for smaller ships, but for bigger ones, which several players on them, it would be needed.

So yeah, overall I want to design ships, stations, be creative and think things...lgically (god what an awful pun) :D And if someone else would like the stuff that's just a bonus thing.

Oh and almost forgot: German guy in his late 30's (probably behaving at leasth alf the age though >_>) with a tendency to overthink stuff, but that's just perfect for a game like this anyway.

What's up people! I'm completely new to starmade, started 3 weeks ago.

I'm a 19yr old who's bored half of the time. Longtime Minecraft player who always wished for more versatility in games.

Found starmade after being disappointed about the fact that star citizen does not offer complete ship customization/building.

I have a very systematic approach to almost everything. So I ended up reaserching alot after a brief amount of game time. I was completely blown away by the amount of content.
Love the ability to make turrets and ai control options.

I mainly a builder, I don't really like to send things I build towards destruction, so I'll mainly be building giant ships that take alot to beat down and avoid pvp battles. Will be a neutral nomad who likes to have a nice relation to people . So basically if you see a giant ship just peacefully drifting around on a server, that might be me.

    Hello
Im coasterrider and im a builder most of the time
i have been trying to play starmade for so long but now i can fully play it without lag :3

i mostly build spefic type ships...if i need a miner i build a miner ship and if i need a attack ship i build a attack ship
(last ship i builded being a miner ship with 2 AIs which i just discovered how they work
    )

im pretty much not a fighter so i mostly try to avoid ships unless they are friendly or neutral

im autistic to (pls understand it)
i enjoy mutple builder type games so you can expect me to be creative with what i build :P
also if you need help with things im always happy to help

    Greetings!

I discovered this game during a search for "games for engineers" and while the phrase "Minecraft plus XXXX" is an overused and often inaccurate descriptor, it properly defines StarMade. My interest is in building and exploration. I like any game that involves transportation serving a need. Once I get my space legs, I am eager to find a server where I can play with others (but non-PVP). This game seems to be developing slowly, but I look forward to updates that will embellish upon the details of the universe, namely bigger and more interesting planets, flora and fauna, more variety in NPCs, and anything that will generally increase the available variety of new discoverable things in The Black.

Mostly I've been quietly reading and watching, experimenting with building in creative mode as I try to understand the complex rules governing ship mechanics, and enjoying the great variety of user-submitted structures in the community storehouse. But nothing can replace the feeling of flying around exploring the galaxy in a beautiful ship that I have designed myself. Someday it will be complete and I will post it publicly.

Beyond the game, I am a student of mathematics, computer science, philosophy, and language. I have a passion for coffee, tea, and fresh food.

Anyway I've been playing for more than 5 years now and thought I'd start using the forum and maybe making some detailed guides etc.

I try to do my own research into mechanics and find out how the work at their base. So if you're interested mayber follow me or sth idk how this forum works exactly.

    I am Captain_Ryla.
I’m a high school senior, who learned about Starmade while looking for references for parts for some 3D printable ships I was designing. I enjoy 3D modeling, drawing, and making things. I plan on majoring in geology in college.
I like Star Trek, and sandbox games, so this game is great for me. I’m working on a small fleet of ships in 0.199.132a, and I want to update to the current version and get on a SMP server when I get a new PC that can handle the current version. Unfortunately, my current computer can’t run anything over the version I’m playing, but that should change soon when I get a newer one.
