That makes so much more sense than what we have now. LOL The only problem would be re-introducing something akin to coring, in which everyone tries to kill the bridge crew rather than destroy the ship outright. Some players won't like that. Of course, that's perfectly reasonable and legitimate...
This update honestly seemed a little bit rushed, like there should have been one more dev build beforehand. I'm not complaining though. This is awesome!!!
I'm also glad behind-glass rendering finally got fixed!
Ideally, I'd like to put the core in my ship's main engineering section along with weapon computers and bury the whole kit and caboodle deep inside the ship, then have computers on the bridge (helm, control computer, whatever) to control everything remotely. Someone in main engineering could...
Currently there is no easy way to copy designs without putting them in the catalog. The simplest way to fix this is adding a "duplicate" button to the design's right-click menu.
I agree. Shift+[sit] or something should be the key bind.
The best solution right now is to use a sideways gravity module on the wall by the bed to make it *look* like the character is lying down.
To be serious for a post or two, I actually wish the game had been written in C++. It's a lot more efficient. MCPE is written in C++, which is why it gets performance comparable to Java (PC) Minecraft even though it runs on a phone. Oh well. I guess I just need to build a gaming computer to tank...
Another +1 for "target kitchen sinks" option!
This could be implemented without ship scores, using mass only. However, it would probably be better to include mass as a priority option in a more expanded system that includes firepower, armor, thrust/mass ratio, etc.
I look forward to future development and expansion of planet game content and mechanics. I'm just going to reiterate: Loading the entire planet's worth of blocks into client and server memory all at once limits the size of planets. Also, saving an entire planet segment when no one has bothered...
This would also make planets more important as bases: http://starmadedock.net/threads/planetary-shield.20397/
Yeah, planets are kind of a train wreck right now. They need more than graphical optimizations, though. I wonder if Schema will re-visit planets after or around the fauna update.
I use that sometimes. I still think it's weird that my hangar door shows up as a docked "ship" though. It's a moving part of the mothership. That's the least of my worries about cores though. Not being able to move the pilot's station after I start building the ship is the real problem. If I...
Some larger ships don't even explode at 50%. They explode at 60% or higher HP.
The HP bar needs to indicate how much is left until core detonation. Furthermore, different parts of the bar should be different colors to indicate how the loss of HP is affecting the ship, such as:
Dark green for...
I don't care what happens to cores as long as they stop being annoying. As they are now, they get in the way when I'm trying to figure out interior vs. exterior layout.
I got annoyed trying to build a ship earlier, so I updated the OP and bumped this thread. I probably won't play much until we get either movable cores or a pilot computer/chair/whatever so I can fly from somewhere other than the center of the ship. Having to place the pilot's seat before...
If your missiles aren't hitting their targets often enough, ask your server administrator to consider lowering PD accuracy a little. I think there's a separate config option for it.
