      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

I don't think the Dev build is the issue. I'm using 202-87 just like you are and whatever they put in the new configs apparently doesn't play well with release or dev. builds of the game. I appreciate your help but based on the rather disinterested responses we've seen here and the rather...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

Did you add the QF configs after the install or is the proper version 202-87 without any added configs? Plain 202-87 is largely the same as January's release but there have been new Dev builds and QF config changes since then.

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

The most frustating thing about this is that there does not appear to be any current documentation available on this topic; neither here nor on Quickfire's Discord. January was over 4 months ago and there are a LOT of changes between the version from back then to the current one. Can...

Good to see you back at it. 😎(y) Seeing players building again fuels my inspiration and gives me hope for this game.

Be sure to copy your existing game to a new folder in case something goes wrong.

Agreed. Unfortunately, without additional testing/input from other players, we have no way knowing if these are intended changes or a bug. I have reinstalled ver. 202.87 several times. Using it without QF is no different than the build I was using in late January. Using it with QF...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your input. I'm at a loss as to what is causing this issue. I'll try another fresh install of 202-87 and see what happens.

Did you notice a cutoff where you can't get additional power without stabilizers? ...or is it just the original 10 free blocks?

Discrepancies? Can you expand on that a bit? Sorry, that's a mistype. 400-499 does require 40. My I ask what ship size you're using? I've tried everything from the original 10 reactor blocks up to a ship with over 4000 reactor blocks. Deleting the stabilizers yielded the same power...

Thanks for listing that other build Forsyth . The appropriate build version did not appear to be listed under any of QF's documents or discord. I tried another fresh game install for ver. 202-96 without adding the configs and got nothing but errors. I tried 202-87; stable but still had the old...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

I had been using a much older version, then I updated when I saw new configs listed on github. After applying the configs, the above changes were what I received. Just to be sure, I backed up the game to another folder and used the launcher to download and install the latest version. 202-96...

This is a prime example of why people question QF so harshly. I've just provided you with a screenshot of the shield stats from your team's most recent QF configs applied to a fresh download of StarMade's latest build; ver. 202-96. I've also told you that at least some of your QF discord info...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

That's the problem that's been causing our disagreements. You can't "calculate" how someone else is going to build a ship. Likewise, you shouldn't use calculations to dictate how someone else builds. We all build for different styles and different purposes. Example, the original...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

For gits and shiggles, I backed up my StarMade install to another folder then completely reinstalled the game from scratch (now ver.202-96) and added only my blueprints, player skin, keyboard config and the QF configs. Starting a new universe, the reduction in capacitors still exists but I made...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

Did you guys ever post a list of all current QF settings? ...Or at a minimum; a note of what configs go with what StarMade build? At present, this info does not appear to be on QF's discord or repository. What info does exist (including the opening post of this thread) appears out of date...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

Yeah... After all the crazy designs I've come up with over the past 6 years, I'm not interested in suddenly being restricted to only one build/play style. It's times like these that I am glad I started saving all my SM installs (before and after QF) to completely separate folders as a backup...

Actually, you weren't part of that particular discussion. Just so we're clear; your aforementioned tester was actually the one who originally cited 40k mass as the "standard". On the other hand, I do find it ironic that you acknowledge the negative effect large ships have on a multi-player...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

The argument stands on the simple fact that QF's response to anything questioning, or criticizing their idea of balance is met with the same phrase... "working as intended". You consistently see this here and on Discord. I can point you to one particular Discord chat where I gave feedback and...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

There's a reason for that. QF and their supporters made it clear that they did not want any feedback that conflicts with their chosen path for the game; even if that feedback is constructive or raw-data-based. Not everyone is going to stick around after that's been made known.
