      Large ships.

\"Speed means squat in a game where everyone can reach max speed by slapping on more thrusters.\" Sounds like part of the problem to me. Ship speed and acceleration is just as big of a problem as the turn rate. Presumably you\'re referring to the issue where 300 mass ships turn just as slowly...

Star Trek Phasers: Did you know they arent actually beam type weapons?

Lasers are already in use in warfare. The US military is apparently trialing an anti-air laser weapon mounted on aircraft carriers. The idea is that they focus a laser on a single point on an enemy aircraft causing, say, a fuel tank to rupture and explode. The biggest problem right now is...

MrNature72 is writing an actual book!

I\'m also writing a book. It\'s in the early stages and I\'m yet to write a word that isn\'t part of a vast array of notes, but still. Book. Science-fiction too. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Presumably it\'ll be published online rather than as a hard copy?

      StarMade 0.14 RELEASE

That\'s one hell of a changelog.

      Sound/ shop design (aesthetics)

So recently things like dynamic shadows, normal maps and higher resolution textures have been added into the game. This is good. However it'd be nice if more focus was put on sound design as large swathes of the game are silent. I've noticed a large number of sound files are already in the game...

      Abolish build blocks.

Yeah. 50K salvage blocks will do a better job. You\'re right. But that\'s 50K salvage blocks, not 5 minutes and a single build block. And what does it matter if you\'ve got some blocks left over? You\'re harvesting a planet, not making a sculpture. Hell, if you want to you can use the proceeds...

Faction Weapon Colours + lock on beam weapons

Grammar and making your point readable is important. If what you\'re trying to suggest doesn\'t make any sense to those reading it then there\'s little point in making the suggestion in the first place. If you clear up your writing then people will be more willing to engage in discussion...

      Abolish build blocks.

I'm sure that this is something that's been discussed already, but darn it that search function is on the other side of the screen. Anyway, in those few moments where I've somehow managed to join a server... (http://star-made.org/content/ping-and-connection-issues by the way) ... I've noticed...

Supported it then, support it now. My clicking finger is the most muscular part of my body thanks to starmade. +1

Lights. Lights. Pink lights, rimless lights.. so on and so forth

Comparing Space Engineers to Starmade is like comparing Supreme Commander to Company of Heroes. Sure they\'re both in the same basic genre, but they\'re so very, very different. SE is incredibly limited and small scale. SM is on a much larger scale. SE has an experienced development team and a...

      New Turret Design Idea

Could something similar be achieved by chain docking? Add some parameter that says the first turret (the base) cannot fire and cannot change pitch and roll, but the turret attached to the first turret can only change pitch but can fire. Perhaps. I have no idea. Where am I?

      Stardrift-youtube series[EPISODE 1 COMING SOON]

Depends - mostly on how it\'s filmed. But yes, just about any sci-fi effect you can think of I can most likely pull off.

      Stardrift-youtube series[EPISODE 1 COMING SOON]

I don\'t know how to do 3D work or animation - though with the software I use importing 3D models is apparently very easy so I could probably figure it out. But yeah, I can do special effects. Laser beams. Lens flares. Explosions. Whatever, really. I can even do greenscreen and keying work if...

      Stardrift-youtube series[EPISODE 1 COMING SOON]

I can help on the post-production end if you need any. I do video editing and visual effects as a job so I\'m pretty handy when it comes to post. Machinimas are pretty easy to edit too, given the defined edges and stable footage. Anywho, I can probably free up some time so send me a PM if...

      Ping and connection issues

I've had this problem since I started playing Starmade, and have since been trying to resolve it. When I attempt to join a server it tends to hang on "requesting synchronise" or one of the other windows that pops up when you try to join a server. It rarely gets to the point when it actually...

      Large ships.

Pretty sure this was addressed in the Q&A. Lots of suggestions have been made in regards to the ridiculous accerleration speeds of capital ships; most of which tend to favour the notion that thrusters should become less efficient the more there are. This I support, but I\'m sure the devs have...

Artificial Horizon and other stabalization needs

These are features that, now I think about it, I\'m sort of surprised aren\'t already in the game. +1 and so on.

      Space Hulks and Modular Design

So I was sitting on the toilet and while I was squeezing out yesterday's bacon sandwich I had an idea. Wouldn't it be neat if spaceship designs could be modular? That is to say you create, say, a generator section, engines and a weapons array as different ships. You can then fuse these ships...

      New Block A grate Idea

This is a voxel-based game. Wouldn\'t a cube of grating be a little wierd? A cube a glass can make sense, but a cube of grating just makes a cage. Don\'t get me wrong, I can see uses for it, and it\'s definitely something I\'d use in my ships but I feel that maybe it should be a thin block...

The Non Op Ftl Transportation Method (This is going to be long)

Unless a topic has already been resolved I see no problem with necroposting. As you say, it means that a whole new topic doesn\'t have to be created, plus it brings up old ideas that people might have forgotten about; many of which are quite interesting.
