Check if there is a java process still running .. if so end it and try again.
Use the program from http://starmadedock.net/threads/diagnostic-tool-starmade-system-checker.183/ to check if something is wrong maybe.
Search for Starmade on your harddrives ... maybe you can find your old install that way!
The new Launcher lets you decide where you want the game to reside. Thats under "Options ->Installation Settings"
@K10wN .. maybe you should then report problems with those stations on there original download pages? So that the creators can correct them. I have seen there is a problem with my exported station missing all but one of its turret, regardless that the one on the test server is complete!
check for a Zip file in your starmade folder named "backup-Starmade*lotofnumbers" take the newest one unzip and copy the serverdatabase and the server.cfg to your starmade folder (replace the one that is there!).
If there is no zip file ... i am sorry!
So .. you may have to provide a bit more information on your actual problem with the game!
Otherwise the game support forum may not be able to help ;) :P
and welcome :)
@Xeeshnek and what Thadius Faran said about the Java install! The 64bit version has to be installed manualy by choosing it on the java.com page. Sorry .. havnt seen that first
Maybe you want to switch to the dev version of the game and try to connect to the official testserver.
Simply add a new Install folder under Installation Settings and switch to Dev in the launcher.
Then let the launcher reinstall the game and test if you can connect.
Search the Server in the...
In the Game Launcher under Options - Installation Settings
Choose a new Install folder (create one and name it Dev for example)
then change Build branch to Dev!
If you want to get back to your release game settings revert that back
Happens the moment you cross 999 999 999 to 1000 1000 1000 ... looks like a bug to me!
edit: Atra is right ;) ... i at random choosed 5 sectors with a star when i tried that ;) so no bug bug .. only me beeing lucky hitting them.
There is a problem with Beams on Mac .. afaik. And i am not sure if its cause has been nailed down already.
Can you start up the game and crash it again with the salvager beam to produce a new Log.txt.0 file to upload here ?
and try disabling "Draw Beams" under Options in game and see if that...
the first version of the /save command that had station save enabled did not save turrets.
that was a bug that got fixed.
but people did not seem to have checked there own saves by reimpoting them!
The 14.9 Catalyst is broken somehow. I have read about that on a gamming news page, try to rollback to 14.4 (or 14.7 Beta as someone else did here on the forum)
