Different visors & guns—see people's brains with a special visor and shoot them with a special gun!

Personally, I feel this would make a great mod, but should not be in the vanilla game. However, I'm hung up on spaceships, so I'm biased.

Are devs thinking about StarMade supporting Overwolf?

      It it ain't cross-platform, it's crap. :p This is not cross-platform.

      Battlestar Galactica ship

So many people have built their own battlestars. I'm surprised there isn't a flood of sment attachments on this thread. (I'd post one, but I build small ships, not Battlestars.)

Star Trek / Low Profile Turrets?

For Star Trek stuff, I personally find GaeasSon to be the ultimate Star-Trek-in-StarMade authority. Below are some Community Content links that might be useful for this thread. http://starmadedock.net/content/star-trek-constitution-tos.75/ http://starmadedock.net/content/turret-internal-9r5.3363/

Advanced Build "Show only block type X"

I think the non-selected block types should remain translucent, but for larger ships, that may bring the game to its knees. Maybe a client-side config option for build-mode block transparency, defaulting to 100% transparent?

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

Even if these low-LOD chunk blocks were always painted white to simulate starlight glinting off, it would still help. In non-combat situations, players would be motivated by curiosity to go check out these featureless bits, to see what features they could find up close.

      Jay's Engineering Journal

The Y1930 "J Series" has now been submitted to Community Content for approval. It should be fun for Star Wars fans. As a StarMade Ship, it's pure style over substance; you can really see the Millenium-Falcon-inspired designs throughout. I am happy with this playset. While building the exterior...

Star Wars YT1930 Light Freighter (J Series) 2.0

The Star Wars YT1930 Light Freighter - J series [/SPOILER] This fine ship has storage and power-per-second generation of 100,000 adequate power storage and power generation of about 69,000 eps, including multiple backup reactors, to ensure that the life support systems never blink out...

      Kill Logic pipes

I can kind of understand laying out a circuit logically to observe the connections, but this strikes me as a one-off function, not the common usage. Normally, I build relatively small ships, and have to put the logic where I can. (versus dedicated logic rooms) I will make a test circuit on a...

      Story Mode

The game needs a thorough API. Then modders can make an infinite amount of story modes as mods to the core game.

      Exit to Launcher Option

It's still a valid idea to back out to the new launcher from inside the game, instead of shutting everything all the way down. That might actually become the new default action of the "Quit" button. You would have to quit twice to shut down the game. Once out of the game and once out of the...

Plasma Blades - Melee Weapons for ships

I voted no. I can't see this being much better than a judicious use of plasma output amongst decorative blocks. In short, I think we can already do this with creative use of plasma weapons, decorative blocks to make the blade, and either an area sensor or continuous clock to drive the plasma weapon.

      Coolant? Coolant. Coolin' it.

I'm thinking in terms of creating reactors by slaving reactor blocks to a control computer to create a master reactor system. (Just use decorative computers as control computers to avoid using up additional Block IDs.) Then having the coolant system as a slave effect system that can be slaved to...

Read by Council New planet type suggestion to supplement dodecahedrons

      1) Same with planet cores. However, since the ocean won't kill you, you can build on it and land on it (and hopefully in the future, dive below the surface, depending on how liquids are redefined in the future, hopefully, as a high-friction atmosphere-type environment that simulates water.)...

      Jay's Engineering Journal

Special Starmade design project suspended for a while. I simply felt the YT1930 design pulling at me, so I went back to that for a while. I wanted to create a ship "playset" in the style of the toys I played with as a kid. As a result, my YT1930 has 18 or 20 rail attachments, not including the...

      Who's Bright Idea was this?!

Maybe have spawn location be a function of game difficulty? (E.g. Easy spawns you towards the galactic core in the midst of a thriving technocracy with lots of shops, lots of trade faction, and fewer pirates. Hard spawns you on a little blue backwater planet, third from the star, 2/3rds out from...

      Who's Bright Idea was this?!

Non-destructive mining options would be great. I would still like to see multiple starting spawn areas; widely dispersed homeworlds, if you will. Maybe in different corners of the same starting galaxy.

Planned Missions Based on NPC Type

This is why we need an API so badly. The mission system would start out slowly, but then more and more players would build up various themed API-driven mods on their own. After a few months, the lore would explode and so would the mission options. Parameter's joke epic would become a...

Secondaries used as effects for primary weapon combos?

It could simplify things, but you need to flesh out the idea more. Mostly in terms of default config options for all the different combinations. For example draining cannon shots don't really make sense unless you hand-wave the feedback, so for those hits, it might be a complete replacement for...
