Recognized Simple solution for a horrible problem

X-Wings have far more powerful laser cannons than TIE Fighters, not to mention twice as many laser cannons. I just wish we could pack that much firepower into the same amount of space.....

But then why not just do whatever work is required to exponentially increase the number of different ships you can have? Let's stick with the 200m ship for now: You make 12 places on this vessel. Each of these module places has 3 possible modules plus the capability to be left empty. Do you...

It definitely would be much slower to make a full other 200m cruiser than to add some places where various modules can occasionally appear.

My thought was to have modular extras. Say you take an Outcast exploration vessel, and have a blank space on the top hull. You build an extra cannon assembly, a jump drive system, and an extra thruster. All of these have different shapes, but fit into the same area, and so can go in the same...

How to: Home bases WITHOUT lag

Jsten, the lag would be the same as if those 50 people were in realspace, since the void sector is just a locked version of a normal sector, right? The ability to hide ships would be a unique and useful advantage of this system---for truly extreme costs of resources, and I mean this needs to be...

TheWurm, not really. It'll be a ship that looks similar to the basic version, but has a different attribute. It's not some magic buff, this ship actually has a bolted-on weapons package and heavier armor or extra thrusters or whatever. It's different and more powerful, not just magically "special".

It is the blueprint system, except instead of the game saying "Block 11 244 2 is a Grey Advanced Armor Hepta", the game says "Block 11 244 2 is a Grey Advanced Armor Hepta or the first block of Module One", and then randomly chooses one. Based on this choice, the game then (In the same fashion...

I really like the idea of randomized modules. It should be relatively simple, too: Make a ship. Now, choose a block where a module will connect. Go build a module. Choose the block (And orientation, just like permanent rail docking) on the module that will connect. Now, you have two versions of...

Starmade Forge - Starmade comes to Mobile!

Wait wait wait, you don't even know what you're going to be doing yet? Yet you're programming this app that shows ships regardless? I need a (Sarcastic) "Genius" rating now. But seriously, what are your basic thoughts? Make app now, decide function later? How does that even work?

Starmade Forge - Starmade comes to Mobile!

Genius. Just genius. So, what all do you plan to be able to do with this app?

      A small logic suggestion

Yeah, I'd just as soon say select a block, and highlight its master in red. Perhaps also a (Temporary, visible only as long as you're in build mode with that block selected) logic tunnel or line directing you towards the master. The line/temp tunnel would also be useful for computer slaves.

Starmade Forge - Starmade comes to Mobile!

So what's this supposed to do? Allow you to view ships in 3d wherever? Is it going to be capable of reading a .sment file or something?

      MH(medium harvester) ship buildlog

Neat. An access port is just some random area with a pattern on it. Perhaps something ringed with hazard armor, that suggests that something's happening in that space. It helps break up the monotony of a blank wall.

Drone Wars Competition , Season 2

Ever been holding a handgun and accidentally fire at your unshielded, just started ship-in-progress? Or been flying a drone and pulled the trigger while flying out/in/around your hangar?

Recognized Simple solution for a horrible problem

Yes, but still. An armored (Yes, they have lightweight composite armor) X-Wing can still be blown to bits by a single TIE fighter shot. Don't even get me started on TIE fighters (Disposable piles of lightweight, useless materials, no shields, no hyperdrive, no care). That said, TIE fighters can...

Factories can only produce one thing at a time, but you can change what they produce at will.

      Space Elevators

Technically possible, yes. Feasible, not so much. The problem, as mentioned in the OP, is the gravity of the planet, not some sort of problem with actually building a space elevator.

      TheatsCo- the Clueless Collective

Here's the fun part: You don't need to know anything about what you're building, what size ships are "common", nothing. Build your station to suit your ships, or vice versa. It's completely up to you.

      Ship and Station Best Practices

There used to be a glitch concerning multiple shipyards, but as far as I know it's been fixed. So, no, no restrictions on shipyards/station.

      Holographic Display

Well, jsten, it's useful for a Star Wars-esque command room near the bridge of your Star Destroyer/Venator with a holographic representation of the battle. Truly, it's useful and would become commonplace as a centerpiece for ships, stations, even planetary bases. Great way to see a battle...
