Dimensional, not denominational. Dimensions are directions in space, denominations are parts of religions.
There are already ways to do things like this. Look them up. Especially display block floating text and similar tricks.
The big difference is that turrets in sci-fi are almost always non-self-contained. They rely on the mothership for ammo/power/mobility (In the form of horizontal or even vertical (I'm looking at you, oscillating turrets) traverse machinery....and often explode because they contain some ammo or...
The rating system and that graph are completely screwed and are terribly inaccurate representations of the ships they label. Don't trust them. We've been told that they'll get fixed eventually.
Best way to build a station is to make it look nice. You can add things like rings (Great place for weapons) or other shapes apparently orbiting the station, if you need systems space.
A space station is an immobile target. Also, it's obvious (Visible from several galaxies away) and valuable...
While I like the idea of using a slave system to customize the focus of a scanning array, I still prefer this:
Recognized - Cloak, Jam, and Scan. System Revamp
which covers just about everything to do with detecting and hiding ships, stations, and who-knows-what.
When the new PGF fleets come out, there will be plenty of ships to experiment with in-game, with no need to do anything other than perhaps mine a bit. No decent building skills required. Just mine enough to buy and fill a blueprint, and you're set.
Guess so.....but still. If you already have a shelf, it's probably a good, average shelf. Which really needs no optimizations. Although, I suppose the case could be made for optimizing the way things are placed on the shelf...
Just going to point out that my statement is geared towards saying that anyone who is willing to put the time in to make a good ship will, most likely, produce a better ship, because they'll want their good-looking ship to be good all around. Usually.
If you intend to make a brick, then you're...
Hehehehe, it's starting to sound like the run-up to my AP English Language exam. Logical fallacies, ah the fun. Covering satire was also fun. Mostly because we read Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal, which, for those of you who don't know, is one of the most sarcastic works in history...while...
Use the new consoles to add the feeling that stuff happens on the bridge.
Try experimenting with shaping the hull in different shapes. Add some triangular sections of the hull, add some towers or something. Break up the rectangular outlines that you have right now.
Experiment with a rounded...
Dr. Whammy, if that happens, make a video. I want to see it.
Actually, make any video of one of your ships in action. I wanna see if they're really all that they sound like.
Yeah..... But still, why rotate something as it flies out of a bay? Unless you're storing them pointing in a different direction than you're launching them from.
Why? You can already do that with some logic trickery, by the way. Make the rail a separate entity docked to a rail rotator set to rotate indefinitely.
To clarify "good systems"---A system that effectively accomplishes its intended task or tasks. Shielding that can't stop a cannon round from a 2-block point-defense turret is not effective. Shielding that can stop a million-damage nuke strike is fairly effective. A power system incapable of...
