This could work, if the camera has to only render a very short distance the load should be greatly reduced (say only 50-100m)
While this would only really them useful for viewing interiors, damage etc it should theoretically allow many more cameras to operate at once
So 75% armor means that 75% of the damage received will be absorbed by armor pool and the remaining 25% delt to the blocks:?
Therefore acting as a sort of secondary shield:?
Would using basic hull therefor be the best choice for spaced armor (designed to negate missile damage by detonating...
I personaly prefer more 'natural' looking planets to the ones starmade currently has (plus next to no lag).
If anyone wants, I can always upload a copy of it.
What sort of size planet were you looking at OP :?
I agree with comments above^^
It has enough to deal with as is, and is vunrable to attack except when docked (but if you keep it docked then why bother having it in the first place?)
Size limits on the shipyards maybe be a good idea... HOWEVER you guys seem to forget that I can fill up 20...
That makes a lot of sense, however I was just thinking of forcing players together.... if there are lots of these harvest-able gas giants players will rarely run into each other... unless not all gas giants are made equal:? e.g some have greater mining bonuses and are larger
The only way astrotech beams will be remotly useable is if they can replace blocks.
However that could be overpowerd....
Why not allow it to replace blocks HOWEVER doing so disables the ships shield and it might cost more than usual to replace?
LOL^
A decent Point defense screen can keep 90% of the missiles off you, and deploying PDS drones (mini drones with 5 point defense turrets stuck on them) will be able to stop over 100 incoming missiles
As I'm sure most of you know, Starmade currently has very little 'Endgame' and progression other than doing some mining and building some awesome ships.
Lots of awesome stuff IS planned though (see here http://starmadedock.net/threads/starmade-endgame-nebula-and-aliens.20713/#post-226176)

I would quite like to see weapon computers produce a Short 'logic signal' when fired.
This would be quite useful for a number of logic contraptions and would open up many new possibilities.
To reduce lag, they would only fire a signal IF connected to a logic block (via c-v with the logic on the...
Does firing a wepon produce a logic signal?? If it does you could have the main beam on your hotbar and the rest set to trigger via logic when you fire the main one
Guys.... you do know you can create your own planet??
I created a earth-like planet (diameter of 100) by hand and boy does it look good (and not produce lag)
