      Ship Sizes

My standard shuttlecraft and fighters are at most 17x17x9 (though most of them are shorter) because of docking sizes. My corvettes also have a standard size, don't remember what is is right now (about 70x30x15, I think) Largest ship I've made is about 430x330x120

      System Tiers

The one thing that I think needs to be a requirement is that the tiers are linearly scaling with each other. That is, if I take a ship with T1 components and then replace everything with T2 or T3 components, it should be power stable if it was before, and power unstable if it was before. If my...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Well, you can pack in docked objects closer than 7x7 if the objects themselves are smaller. Using shield supply to top off the core's shield capacity would allow you to take an extra hit or two from AMS. Use push pulse to scatter the drones, and you're all set to take down something.

      Overdrive and damping

We could have damping only active on entities once they get hit on a collision, until they either activate thrust in a direction or their speed reaches zero. That's basically the one case that I think everyone can agree on for being useful.

      NuclearFun's Ships

It definitely doesn't look as aggressive as your other ships. Is the unpaneled area on the top going to be for hauling turret, drone racks, or reactors?

      Overdrive and damping

Wait, what do mean by that? Doesn't the sector load with all objects stationary?

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Probably too limited a lifetime, unless you run a custom config with a huge base power amount. Doing that with shields would probably work though, as I don't think you would have enough shields to matter much anyway.

      Overdrive and damping

So friction is actually NOT NEEDED. The only reason I came up with this idea is thought there was some sort of debate over whether linear damping should stay or not, and thought a compromise between having it and not was needed. So I looked through the forum to find the post, and... And while...

      Overdrive and damping

friction was put into the game to prevent ships from getting bumped into eternity. As long as it can perform that function, any way to prevent it from interfering with the rest of the game is good.

      Power items (for tier system)

Making everything a small plexstorage that you can put items in? All I can think of is "So much data!" Seriously, adding 1-3 plexstorage slots to every block on a ship is going to be more data than anybody would like. It's going to double ship file size. Also, even on a ship about 70m long...

Skylord Worlds: all my Projects,Stations,Skins and Procedural faction ships list

I think it's supposed to be a derelict ship turned into a station

      Overdrive and damping

No, because every ship should be able to do this. One block versus some fraction of the mass.

      Improved Universe

So came with another idea. It requires some weird sector transitions. The current rectangular sectors are cut into the arc shapes so that they can be made into concentric circles.

      Deffence Effects Reworked

It makes sense for pierce and punch to be based on surface area, so I suppose block count ^ 2/3 makes the most sense. Also, change the effect ratios to 1/(1+ effect rate) so that way they can be uncapped in the code and left to the config without invincibility.

      Overdrive and damping

I had this thought on how to solve the entire issue about linear damping that usually comes down to "we need a toggle for it." How about overdrive? Any overdrive active on a ship (even just a computer) eliminates damping completely.

Default skins for multiple races and genders, for players and NPCs

Adding randomness to the textures of creatures in general is probably a good idea. It could possibly done through a few overlays that randomly get applied.

      Recall beam

Have a recall beam pointed at the trigger. Link it to a few docks.

      Improved Universe

No, I ditched that idea entirely, as you wind up with it not looking like a solar system inside the system, since everything is in a grid and there are multiple instances of each planet and it'll not be the cool effect we were all looking for. It's workable, but you also have the weird effect...

      Recall beam

But what if you have an autosalvager or something you want to recall? Also, it's much cheaper to be able to recover and repair drones than buy new ones outright.
