I found a very interesting conversation today

I'm a simple man. I see Zyrr , I grab popcorn. Though this time, I have to agree with him (he must be hella surprised reading that). The feedback provided on the power proposal, was far more than just haters hating. There were several constructive, reasonable counter-proposals and modifications...

Bug No sound with and without OpenAl

This is the log I managed to grab, it says it cannot locate OpenAl libraries.

Bug No sound with and without OpenAl

I lost all sound in Starmade since the latest (2017.05.10) Windows 10 x64 update (KB4019472). I tried everything from switching between bundled and custom Java to a complete reinstall of the game (both using the Steam tool and the starter) to no avail. The only time I could even get an error...

      Warp gates

I have my methods for that. Anti-personnel turrets, or a "safety" rigged at the transporter room that sets off a damage pulse that instakills with some area triggers.

      Warp gates

For the sake of consistency, why not make Warp Gates work similar to the Transporter? You build the gate, set it up, connect your modules to the computer... but instead of having to fiddle with the marker beam, you open a GUI on the Warp Gate Computer similar to a Transporter Computer. It would...

Minimade baby-sized server [WILL CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2017]

Planet plates are their own entity type, so if Olxinos' script specifically targets only ships, there can't be an issue.

Or maybe don't try to solo run it. Even offline but active (has been on during the past 48 hours) members generate FP, and if you have 2 members the Fp you get offline already outweighs the flat cost.

      StarMade - Devblog May 8th 2017

This feature wouldn't be for you, or for me, or for anyone who plays and has played for years and took part in more PvP battles than he can keep count. This would however help the guy who's still learning the how-to of shipbuilding a lot. Also, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, don't look a...

      StarMade players and their interests!

Hell, I'm gonna chip in myself. Used to love tinkering with PCs. Now I'm not following hardware trends due to lack of money to buy the newest anyway. Played the living crap out of Minecraft, and half a dozen modpacks for it. Played RTS games like the Command&Conquer franchise, Homeworld 1-2...

Weakness of cannon-cannon: You have to lead your shots. Not too great against small, fast targets. Weakness of beam weapons: shorter range (half of a standard cannon or missile range). You don't have to lead anything, but you have to get closer, potentially taking damage before you can dish out...

Why shouldn't it? First of all, it adds variety to designs. If you don't have access to say, hylat ore, you gotta rely on beam and missile weaponry, and can't use ioned up shields, whilst a player settling in a system that lacks threns, can't really build missile boats - that is, unless they...

Minimade baby-sized server [WILL CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2017]

Yea, new server, not too many players yet, it also only recently got on the public list. Pirates are OP, that's the point, it's supposed to encourage teamwork. The large sectors make space more... space-like. Get jump drives. On the bright side, the server runs pretty well and thanks to...

My point was, that calling weapon balance non-existent in Starmade is very far off from the truth. Each weapon, per block, has the same DPS, and each weapon system combination has its well defined use, purpose and situational viability, as well as weaknesses and counters. There is no ultimate...

As a fellow Empyrion player, I had to address those, because they also include some things that bother me to no end in Empyrion. 1. Weapons. I have to disagree with you, they are pretty alanced in Starmade. I know because I conducted throrough tests with several targets and even used a stopwatch...

      StarMade - Devblog May 8th 2017

A nice idea would be tying the resource types available in a system to the star's color and size. There's nothing wrong with not every system having every resource, and realistic because IRL stars of larger mass and higher temperature can fuse heavier elements of the periodic table. Another...

      Bobby AI turrets keep missing

There's also a thing with missile/beam long range guided missiles that sometimes missiles go straight away from a locked-on target - which sometimes leads to a funny result that 7 missiles of an 8 output go after the target and 1 says "F*** this I'm out" - or vice versa.

Minimade baby-sized server [WILL CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2017]

Chaindrives are tricky things, that's why I didn't even try making one myself, just took a model that was already working, off the Dock. Not to mention that each update that affects logic circuits, jump drives or rails directly or indirectly, may or may not completely break all existing chain...

      D4GR-A2 Dagger Assault Corvette A3 Mk4

The D4GR corvette family's initial reception was overall good, but it became pretty obvious that the vessels lacked in certain crucial areas. The ship was designed small, but ended up being too small to be relevant, and while being cost-effective, concerns were raised about the ship's actual...

Exploring would be great if it was worth doing. Currently, you don't need to explore because chances are, you get the exact same stuff in the next galaxy as in the next system. Same stations, same planets, same asteroids, same resources.
