Plenty of people (including Skylord Luke) have created ships from Halo. There's quite a few ships from Warhammer 40,000 and our very own Criss is re-creating the ships of Eve Online in Starmade. Just make a few searches on the forums :-)

I like the idea of gaining more control over my ship's systems but I'm also not sure how much benefit this would incur without making other changes to the game's mechanics to take it into account. Maybe if we had the option to turn of all systems (including thrusters, power etc.) it could be...

It does not look curved to me, I think it's an optical illusion. Put a straight edge or your mouse pointer next to the horizon, the gap between the two does not seem to change. But... you just said something about it! :eek:

I like the ghostly haze effect. Makes it look like it's just come out of hyperspace, or something.

I guess that means floating around separately then. That's kinda what I hoped you'd say :)

Do you intend to add Warp gates to the main structure? Or will you have them floating around separately, like Babylon 5?

That last one actually has a rather nice visual effect. It'd be awesome if it looked like the red haze was actually being emitted from the tower!
