It's probably silly of me to introduce myself at this point, but wth. I am NullForceOmega (IGN Nullius, you probably won't ever see me, unless someone talks me into joining a build server.) I am mostly a solo builder, as well as leader and shipwright of my own RP faction, Oblivion Defense Contractors. I've never been very active in the community but I've rubbed elbows with some of the top builders on occasion. I'm currently trying to get back into the swing of things (and refurbish my ships, they barely even function after so long.)

    joining a build server
well I guess its time for the typical advertisement of the NFD build server (however currently it is not the most stable server in the world, but normally it performs brilliantly, and for me at least performs better than my single player)

I used to be a SP person, then I remembered I was whitelisted for NFD a while ago, so I joined the server...I have not been in singleplayer for quite some time now, as the friendly chatter and being able to look at peoples builds and get help from people on builds is very welcoming.

and thread for NFD Nova Fleet Dynamics Build Server- Build, Play, Explore! [Whitelist]

so yeah, with that out of the way, hello, old, account, person!

Hello everyone. I'm Pilot112. I tend to play as mercenary, but been playing a lot with the OOB (order of bogatyrs) faction since like last march.
So I'm half Ukrainian, half British but been living near Wales all my life.

So yeah, I like to raid, I'm always up for checking out someone's bases and I like looking for bases (and finding them! :^D). Love fielding large ships, but use a crappy laptop so can't always do what I want there.

Would have made my own fully functioning faction but don't have time to play regularly. Tend to server hop a lot but been playing around with systemhack recently.

I like star wars and star trek but I think too many star destroyers everywhere in Starmade. Though I don't mind too much. They tend to be cumbersome and easy raiding targets :).

Plan on eventually making my own faction (TSA) a proper faction with more than just me and a few friends in it. So yeah, atm we're protectorates of OOB, but who knows, maybe we will become full faction at some point or maybe just merge into OOB. Shoot me an email if you wanna join up or just want to find out more. ;)

In the meantime, piracy is the way my friends :)

Oh wow, its been forever since I last logged in  So much has changed! Anyways, my name is Dcwawesome if any of y'all remember me from way back when the Void Templar were still around, and maybe after I came back for a spell and created a small mercenary guild, but I'm back! Not really sure what servers are currently used now or what factions still exist but if anyone wants to help me get back into the game it would be much appreciated (y)

    Hello everybody!

I'm Stormraven, and I really love playing with Logic systems and experimenting with alternative technology design.
Extremely small automatic jump drives for escape pods. Backup shield units for ship defense that activate when the main shield drops. Turbo-sublight engines using Overdrive and Push modules connected to logic. That kind of thing.

I tend to play single player, focusing mostly on sandbox building. In particular, I like designing ships that fall outside of the common roles or practices. Things like entirely non-lethal attack vessels, made to disable an enemy and allow for boarding. Or mining ships designed with no offensive capabilities, but a myriad of defensive systems worthy of a battle ship.

    Greets mortals.

I am Kimiro. I tend to quote songs, build obscenely large and complicated things and enjoy explosions.

I'm here 'cause I'm on a Starmade kick recently. It'll pass. Maybe.

    Greetings all!

I'm a gamer in every sense of the word. Tabletop games, card games, several genres of console games, traditional RPG's, and PC Sandboxes are all my jam. I design pen and paper games as a hobby and formally studied game design before getting a good boring-person day job (that keeps me fed, sane, and happy). After searching for a while for a scifi game that scratches my sandbox/pvp itch, this seems like the best candidate that is available. I'm mainly just burning time until the Dual Universe alpha drops, until then I intend to make this my primary sandbox gaming home. There are many things that I already love about this game.

->STABLE.MULTIPLAYER. dang you guys have it good. I've fussed about on a few larger servers and a couple of smaller servers and love every bit of it. No Klang? No losing everything you've made because you got kicked before you med bay was in-place? Fleet PVP kind of works? fantastic!

->feels a bit like modded minecraft, but without consumption: Yeah I said it, I really like how there is no food, and that fuel is not a consumable resource. I dig that ammunition is also a non-issue, so that I can spend less a little less time on logistics.

->DANG it feels good to dock a ship at a home base on multiplayer. I don't have a ton of time to play these games in one sitting usually, and the risk of losing a ship out on a mission in other games like Space Engineers was bad enough without risking losing my base in an AFK raid.

->Small parts combining into bigger systems gives a ton of flexibility for making the ship look great. I could sketch out a dozen different designs for a missile turret and they would all work fairly well (in terms of raw damage, apart from shape/armor being a liability).

->AI opens so many doors and blurrs the line between a typical sandbox game and a RTS. I haven't even scratched the surface of fleet mechanics, but even a buggy mess will be a ton of fun. I'll likely grow to miss this when DU is available.

->High Sci-fi is a plus. Space Engineers refusing to implement shields and other quality of life systems because of their aversion to high-scifi was very tiresome. It is refreshing that a quick skirmish wouldn't necessarily make my ship so beat up that it wouldn't be worth fixing lol.

The Dual Universe alpha won't be accessible until Sepbember-ish as it stands right now, so I might vanish in the fall. If for whatever reason it ends up being a flop, you'll see me again for sure!

I suggest you try to get whitelisted for the Cake Build Server.

once you go creative mode, there is no going back.

Hello, hello. I'm new to the game and still figuring things out.

Systems-wise, i've got the gist of how manufacturing works, but haven't yet figured out how to automate an assembly line by setting up auto-pulls from one block into the next. Still figuring out storage stuff. Have yet to experiment with mixing weapon types, but it sounds pretty intuitive. Digging the power structure rules. Long live the octahedron!

Creation-wise, i've made various (probably small, by any real player's standards) ships. All pretty bare bones and utilitarian. Nothing too robust. Currently working on my first space station. Have the basic power structure fleshed out and most of the exterior hulled in. Have plans to put on some docks and turrets, but i have no idea yet how to do either. Then it will just be a matter of filling the empty space inside, which will probably be a mix of shields, storage, and manufacturing/processing equipment.

On the backend, still having issues with settings not sticking from one load-in to the next. Not sure what i'm doing wrong, but it's freaky seeing a bunch of pirates zip by in ship designs i've created. Linux, if that matters. At this point i'd even just be satisfied if i didn't have to toggle fullscreen off and back on again every time the game loads just to get the bar at the top to go away.

So uhh... i'd appreciate word from anybody who has any advice or resources they'd like to link, or even just a direction to point so i can learn construction best-practices from people who know better.

Pick any one of the more well rated and prolific builders in the community content area and you have a pretty good start. Just reverse engineer those a bit. That and a little youtubin' oughta net you some really good pointers. Some of the more audience aware streamers are also a good source as you can ask them live and get a decent reply. Just don't ask me directly. I've no idea. None. Asking me about building specifics is like asking a garden gnome where the magical path to the moon is hidden - only productive with the right prescriptions.

    Hi, I am C1arl.

I first saw Starmade from a video by the Yogscast. Looked into it because of it being free and ended up not playing much because of my personal computer not being compatible. A computer later and it can now run Starmade so I bought it on to support it even I can hardly play still as a result of lag on my computer. Mostly end up building huge boxy ships that look rotten and fit inside even more boxy ships inside to act as drones with the new fleet systems which I enjoy and am now just picking it up again.

Also recently got into Eve Online and would love the idea of factions being as fun and inviting as the corps on Eve. Am also enjoying what the devs seem to be adding and such and would like to say keep up the good work. I just hope by the time it goes big I have a computer that gives decent fps.

P.S. I did buy it but though I don't have the badge. Oh well.

Hello! I've known about StarMade for quite a long time but only started playing about a week ago. So far I'm still learning the ropes, but absorbing as much useful information as I can - I've managed to build functional turrets, and survive a fight against pirates in an 800-ton corvette, so I guess I'm off to an okay start. I'm definitely interested in trying multiplayer sometime though I suspect I'd be far out of my league.

I wouldn't say that. It's merely a matter of choosing your play style and finding a server that caters to that. You can get a good feel for a server within 10min of logging in during peak times.

    Good Luck and Good Hunting.

I am Master_chief_150, long name, I know, doesn't roll of the tongue easily, but please just call me chief, or master chief, don't go through the hassle of saying my full user name. If you become friends with me, I may let you use a nickname to call me.
I'm approaching my fourth year of starmade, and I live on the starmadedock chat. I'll be often found talking on it, if i'm not there, i'm asleep, out of internet, or in class! I have written a few guides on subjects for starmade, and I seek to be an active member of the community, after being inactive for a while.

I design ships in starmade, and when I can't afford to play it due to time or internet, I design ships on sketchup.
I listen to alot of game music, or songs without any lyrics.

I am not a furry, or a scalie, yet I do have a liking for both, but not committed to be in either group yet. I won't show it so do not worry, this forum isn't gonna be covered in dragons or anthro's, I promise. If you don't like what I like, keep it to yourself, your likes and dislikes are yours, my likes and dislikes are mine. If we keep to ourselves, we don't need to fight, I won't ask for it anyway.

I love all sorts of Sci-Fi, Halo and Homeworld are some of my favourite games, especially the space ship aspect to it.

If you want to know a little bit more about me, check my profile, I have a description of myself there.
That's about it! No need to say welcome to me, i've been here for a long time, just not visibly online alot until maybe two months ago.
