    Have you not seen the current pirate stations?
    yes,but with trading guild having blue color now(as schema said)red is now the only option for pirates,and it makes sense :P
    imo, the current pirate stations dont look like pirate stations at all,more like alien infection station

    In depth, any color could be used for any faction. I think the color code is more like a quick way to refer to then. and i think the faction logo of pirates should be made from black or red and trading guild blue or white.

    About the official competition, i don't think they will start it before the factory patch.

    how in the seven levels of burning hell can pirates be blue? :p
    i think it will be like this for stations.
    pirate ->red/black/gray
    trade guild->blue/white/gray
    neutral(abandoned)->brown/yellow/gray
    I'm really eager to see the abandonned stations people will come up with.
    How people will be able to make them feel old, derelict but still intimidating.
    Something like an extinct alien race station, or an old mining outpost, even a military outpost from an old war with it's turrets still active :P

    Blue Yellow could help give a better visual cue for the Trading Guild. Economy colors

    Red and Brown for rusty pirates :P

    I have to agree with this. 'Pirate' Stations look infected...

    Oh, new bug: salvage beams with missile slave systems have 10x the pre-patch power consumption, and do not stop firing once you fire them, unless you manually remove the salvage computer.

    Materials will be basically unlimited. Just a few simple guidelines (more details will be posted on the actual announcement):

    • Type of station (pirate, neutral, traders) has to be specified
    • A certain color pallet should be used to identify the type (bluish for traders, reddish for pirates)
    • no names of groups/etc are allowed as blocks on the stations (stations will be credited in the files)
    • don't use too many valuable blocks as players raiding will be able to mine them
    • Turrets are encouraged on pirate and trader stations
    • Neutrals should be made look to be abandoned

    this is just what I can come up with atm.

    Also, currently, display block content isn't saved with the blueprint, but that will be added with the next update.
    You should also start a contest for more default ai sihps.
