    What would you suggest for future-proofing ships? (*cough, trade station gamma not having shop module and being a dud cough*). The one thing that comes to mind is making sure you have more than enough power generation and capacity to run your weapons just in case the cost of something is increased.
    Should we include modules and effects that the current AI cannot use now? AKA: Jump drives/inhibitors, scanners and jammers, any type of defensive effect, any type of support beams (drain/supply/salvage), logic, basically everything we include if a player was going to use it?
    Currently people when making custom pirates strip all that and make their base stats as high as they can due to the handicap they suffer.
    Oh, maybe leave an empty sealed off room in case a new room type is required so it can be easily installed to update the crafts? Or am I over thinking things :/

    Should we wait until a few more notiable updates are out before going into a building frenzy?
    (How long of a wait? Closer to one month or more than six? It's a vauge enough answer that just sets some expectations of *oh its quite a ways away, I got time* or whatnot.)

    Okay I should let this process through a clearer head before I continue to bombard you, thanks for answering so quickly though!

    I would say,since few players might try to steal those ships (rp and stuff) and board them while they are neutral. I would (will) Build them as if a real player was intended to fly it,so jumpdrive,jammers etc should be instaled too.
    But I would not go fancy with rails

    I would say,since few players might try to steal those ships (rp and stuff) and board them while they are neutral. I would (will) Build them as if a real player was intended to fly it,so jumpdrive,jammers etc should be instaled too.

    You don't have to. Think in terms of completely open possibilities. We can't make a single ship that suits everyone's playstyle. Neither could an NPC. Maybe some factions don't have scanners. Or don't know how to use beam weapons or jump drives. It's completely open. Don't expect anything on them to be mandatory other than crew accommodations.

    One faction uses externally mounted jump drives similar to this

    How will interaction be rewarded with these factions? Crates of loot? Trading or rewards from npcs? Bounties or exp? Sould we be putting some special cargo pod or someting in our designs to reward interaction?

    For comparison,Corvette is 75m long,with full interior(kitchen,2 bedrooms,captains quarters,medical room,transporter room,engineering room,and main bridge)

    Also started building... I built too much for dalmonts competition. Guess how much mass my first ship probably get?

    I'd say bring out the faction block armor and have 1000 mass!

    my cute shuttle is 200 mass,so I guess somewhere around that hahaha :p
    I build a base ship which consist of two pods. This will be fitted differently with mounted equipment in the middle. A fighter and a cargo ship are already on my list.

    I love the slab indents on the top, but on the sides they look a bit too much like letters, a color change (other than grey) would probably help.

    Ismthe camera part the front or the back?

    I know this was just an example, but please have all the factions use JDs. Nothing is more useless than a ship that can't get around.
    Well you won't be flying them unless you acquire one. Warp gates need to have purpose too.

    Well you won't be flying them unless you acquire one. Warp gates need to have purpose too.
    The purpose of warp gates is immediate travel with no charge time over a much longer distance. Building a non-drone combat ship without a JD is like building a shuttle without thrusters.

    Does this mean AI are going to be using warp gates, though?
