Vau Monk

Finally - a ready-to-use, efficient mining & survey ship for the casual player!

The Monk has a strong primary mining array that can clean up whole asteroids on its own within a couple of minutes. Besides that, it has 3 efficient small mining drones that finish asteroids quickly. They move on to the next rock, without any additional orders from you, when one is complete. They actually perform carrier recalls in reasonable time and automatically unload their haul into your main hold.

This gives you the flexibility to either actively mine with drone assistance, or passively allow your drones to do the work for you while you chat, make a snack, or surf the web from the comfort of the Monk's cozy cabin (equipped for long-range survey and exploration).

Of course active mining gathers resources far more quickly and the Monk's powerful thrusters can really move you through a field quickly, but casual pilots don't always have time to lay on top of that RMB for half an hour solid.

Fortunately, the Monk's spacious 150K cargo hold leaves enough room for you to do a bit of both throughout the evening and return to base fat and happy!

Worried about pirates? Don't be! The Monk has 100K shields, a stable radar jammer, and 3 high-quality Point Defense turrets to eliminate incoming missiles. Three of its own, powerful missile turrets will quickly remove most common pirate nuisances. If it gets way too hairy out there, just order a carrier recall -if there's time - and jump away!

Plenty of little touches like gravity linked to the exterior main door, inner ship remotes for drone launch as well as switching the ship into low-light mode for quieter running.

This design by the best engineers in The Vau Hegemony looks like nothing you've seen before. It brings elegance to native Starmade ship dynamics, rather than attempting to force Starmade systems into the shape of something from television.

Top of the line Vau Technology, brought to a galaxy near you, courteousy of The Called of Ktulu!

    [enjoy and please leave feedback!]

NOTE: These drones work very well and drone mining in general works. It is not even 1/10th as fast as active mining, but works even when you are AFK, so this ship combines both. Drones sometimes 'rest' for a few minutes but typically resume mining on their own. If completely stalled, attempt drone remedial action:
    1. Check fleet status (are you still in mothership?) and order them to mine again.
    2. Give them a different order (move, recall, etc). If they start to obey, immediately order them to mine.
    3. Exit to desktop, log back in and order them to mine again.
    4. Actually carrier recall them, leave the sector so it unloads, return, re-deploy, order them to mine.
    5. Leave the sector so it unloads, delete the fleet, reform the fleet, then enter the sector and order them to mine.
They *DO* work, but like the rest of this game, sometimes they demand a relog and some good old-fashioned persistence to get back to work and once they do they're usually golden for a long time again.

Entering any other core besides the core of their mothership typically pisses them off.
