STR External Jump-Drive

    STR External Jump-Drive Mk 1.0

While our main engineer was taking a road trip (supposedly out sick for the day), he realized that his shuttle didn't feature a jump-drive. Being too cheap to buy a new shuttle, he simply "borrowed" one from the lab and strapped it "securely" to the outside of his ship. The design worked brilliantly until he noticed his boss on the radar. By removing the duct tape and faking a runny nose, he stealthily avoided the unemployment line. Through extensive polishing of this design, our engineers are proud to present the STR-External Jump-Drive.
Featuring a nearly 400% overpowered Jump-Drive unit and a state of the art docking point, this unit is perfect for transporting small craft over very long distances. The large ring design provides protection from outside dangers and collisions, while still maintaining a low mass. Two large engines act to propel the craft while the Jump-Drive recharges and provide finer maneuvering control. Whether for vacation getaways or low-budget fighter squadron transportation, the STR-EJD is a necessary accessory to any small vessel.

Hmm... I wonder where you got this idea...
But really, great build! Very compact and detailed. As captainairspeed said, it would be nice if there was a bit more shields.

Thanks! Like I said in my reply to captainairspeed, the shields are less than I would like, but I wanted to save mass to give it a better recharge time. The main purpose of it as I envisioned anyway was for it to take you within a sector of your target, where you would leave it behind and return after your attack. I'll keep shields in mind if I update this, however.
Its functional and eye appealing but I have done some test and its shields go down under fire a bit too fast other than that a nice example of warp rings I'm currently editing one of my larger ships too enable these to dock sunk into it to allow for small fighters to launch as quickly as possible all around nice ship 8/10

Thanks for the detailed review! I agree it could use more shields, but I wanted to keep it light and compact to allow the Jumpdrive to be more effective. With the current design, I would have to make the engine pods larger and heavier to include more shields, which would hurt its charge time and make it harder to store.
