Ares Aerospace is proud to announce our first foray into the light defensive escort market! We’ve been working under contract with our friends and allies, The Kushan State, in the GXN galaxy to provide a small and affordable, yet hard hitting frigate to our line of fine starships!
The first ship of our new line of Dyrae Class light missile frigates is the KSN FG-2 Tisiphone!
The Dyrae Class of Frigates are designed to be deployed in groups of three as the fast moving wing of a combined arms fleet and are suitable for multiple roles: picketing valuable locations, supporting large vessels with close in defensive fire, escorting trade and mining vessels, reconnaissance of potentially hostile systems, or as a long range fire support team backing up offensive operations.
Weapon Loadout
This ship has 10 VLM silos subdivided into port and starboard batteries using our standard dual purpose light ASM/AFM precision guided missile.
(Two batteries of 1000 Missile 1000 Beam 1000 punch 5x outputs each)
A pair of light shield disruptors flanking the main engine housings, these are the exact same system we employed on our Spatha Class Heavy Escort Destroyer and provide fantastic shield disruption capabilities for a ship of this tonnage!

And to round out our main armaments, a prow mounted light plasma pulse cannon! This is a scaled down version of the heavy PPC we mounted on the Spatha class and provides excellent continuous fire capability ideal for engaging light to medium armored combatants in the sub 20K mass range, and rapidly disabling secondary turrets on larger vessels.

Secondary batteries consist of a pair of high output long range ultra light Mk420 particle beam turrets mounted on the dorsal and ventral hull. The power grid initially installed on the Dyrae class vessels turned out to be slightly more heavier duty than required, and our fine engineers took the opportunity to rapidly prototype a compact yet powerful directed energy system to take advantage of this lucky fact!

Tertiary batteries compose a missile defense grid of ten heavy point defense turrets and a pair of Mk 14 FLare Pod. Each heavy PDT has a quad array of 10mm cannons firing caseless synthetic matter rounds at a combined cyclic rate of 2400 RPM.

The MK 14 Flare Pod is primarily designed as a countermeasure system designed to divert fire from the targets point defense grid. However, the powdered highly volatile synthetic metal used in these flares burns hot enough to cause minor damage to an unshielded target and would be potentially very dangerous to an unarmored astronaut.

Additional defensive systems include a medium shield grid capable of repelling 1.03 Million SM Joules of energy before collapsing, and shield generators capable of charging the defense grid at a rate of slightly over 16,000 SM Joules per second.
For mobility, this ship has a very favorable thrust to mass ratio of 1.5 and includes the standard triple core jump system we include on all our military designs.

I needed to come up with small yet dangerous ship to deploy as a system defense fleet on the GenXNova server. Fleet sizes are capped at 300K blocks, so I needed a ship just under 100K blocks if I wanted three in a squadron.
Just to clarify, this ship was designed to be organized into AI fleets as a high damage output sentry for defending our home base and system, or organized into an AI fleet to support a larger ship in offensive and defensive operations.
While I'm confident it is a flexible enough design to fulfill other roles to a certain degree, the two above are the primary missions of this ship. Just ignore the long list of uses in the above ad. Like any corporation, Ares Aerospace is hardly above exaggerating the merits of their product to make a sale . Going forward I'll be more clear on what my ships are designed to do, and what's just RP corporate uhmm, B-you-know-the-rest .
Three of these ships will decisively crush The Empyrean Lancer, and even tear up the improved version of The Winter's Unrelenting Storm before the light cruiser can kill all three.
The 2nd role I envisioned for my defense fleets is to stand back a few sectors and provide covering fire via long range missiles to larger ships bombarding pirate stations or otherwise engaging larger hostiles.
Aesthetically, I also wanted to improve my interiors further and start to experiment with line art and squadron markings inspired by WW II fighter groups.
