Deep Space Star Port (WIP)

    This is the WIP skeleton of a full-featured starport I am developing based on my experience in MP. I'm basically uploading it here because I fried my second box recently and I'm paranoid about losing this sment, but if anyone has any comments or suggestions I welcome them.

    The primary features are:
    • A wild excess of accessible & easily identifiable docking - my goal is around 100 docks combined public & faction.
    • 4 factory arms (2 basic, 2 advanced) being designed so that individual faction members or even the general public (permissions are easily adjustable - default will be basic factories public, advanced for faction only) can dock to an arm in a way that seals off the factory floor so that their ship's cargo can be pulled into the factory, worked on, then pulled back to their ship prior to undocking with no chance for anyone to ninja jack them while they work.
    Combined, these two features allow pilots to long-term dock personal cargo vessels and use them as a private stockpile, and conduct refining & at least basic manufacturing to add value to their mining work in a safe environment. This should facilitate inter & intra faction trade. Docking can be left split between public & faction or converted to all private docking as suits the owners' needs.

    Of course it will feature all the basic necessities and a shop with substantial of cargo room, as well as a few decorative rooms for RP and plenty of empty rooms for customization and adaptation to things like quarters. Defense will be light - a few million shields and some modest turrets; so obviously this is planned as the sort of station best either used as an invulnerable home base or as an outreach trade feature by a faction that can afford to lose it if it comes under a focused player attack (or attack by augmented pirates if applicable).

    None of the features are really complete yet, but it does have a lot of docking installed (the pads are ugly though... next project is refitting them as something more uniform like all circles or ovals).

    This station is massively WIP so I will have to rate on the scale of things that are there. Most of the existing features are bland and not laid out in the most efficient way. The overall structure of the station is massively decentralized which is good in some scenarios but mostly annoying. A very specific example of what needs to be improved is the bio dome in the center which needs to be massively redone detail and terrain wise to look acceptable.

    For potential downloaders: It does not seem like a station worth continuing from the author's point of halt. If he adds more on to it or makes it more streamlined then possibly.

    2 Stars because I have seen much worse WIPs, but then again I have seen much better.
