I know why it didn't work for me now, but it's too embarrassingly silly to share...
So, to summarise again, to the best of my understanding:
- Stored energy passes from rail to docker to allow weapons to fire if needed.
- Power passes from rail to docker to recharge shields
- Thrusters have their own unique system: if they're pooled together they're powered from the base/"mother" entity only
- Power capacitors cannot draw power from any entity except their own
All remaining secondary systems I don't know any specifics for, but it would be great if people who do could inform the rest of us.
Cloaking
Jammers
Salvage - presumably the same as weapons
Jump Inhibitors
Scanners
Push/Pull - considered a weapon I assume
Mass enhancers
etc...
