    can you make a smaller more manoeuvrable ships? some ships turn so slowly that you can barely handle it, a smaller more manoeuvrable ship would be cool.
    I built some small and medium fighters, they got released with the big ships as docked entities.

    That perfect coverage...
    We really need fleet control now. These would be the perfect candidate for tag-along ships. Have them stay close to the mothership without pursuing targets themselves and just provide more point defense vectors.

    Fleed control would be epic.
    I am planning to dock them outside some distance away from the carrier to make it look like they fly in escort formation.

    Ok now that is a solution I would not have thought of. At all.
    It's already better than fleet control would be (for the specific purpose of defensive antimissile ships). The ships do not move on their own, so they can't glitch away from you, and they will also jump with you naturally..

    Technically you could just copypaste the entire corvette into slots some meters from the hull of your ship instead of docking them. Would be the same range of motion for the turrets, and the corvettes themselves would have mothership shieldding. Maybe include a plexdoor connection to the floating mass so that if BreakOff becomes an option some day, the structure will stay intact as long as it is shielded. If you go this route, you can also copypaste a small number of tiny, decorative fighter templates in relatively close distance to the main hangars, so that it always looks like a subset of the smaller docked craft is flying (deco-only) escort.

    That exactly!
    You also could do small defense turrets looking like escort fighters (I plan this for my eventual try on an Omega Destroyer with Starfurys surrounding it).
    Here is an awesome example on how one can do it:

    I was very happy with the last few smaller ships so i tried to continue with that:

    Work on the Titan is slow but steady:


    some greebling, some interior, some hangar and some systembuilding

    also some color variations on the last small ship:

    It is actually finished, the only thing i need is a name for it...

    oh look, its black and really light grey :p
    ah come on, it is at least 5 different shades of grey :D (and i'll add color)

    let me rephrase: Not everything i build is dark and gritty/militaristic/armed to the teeth/...
