People like to get it so they are they think they are better then other people and because they want to feel like they achieved something

Wanting to feel that you are better than other people is just sad, so that is the wrong reason entirely to want a badge.
However, if you just want it to have achieved something, like me, then you really should try really hard to get it (and I meen really hard, since only the people who deserve it get a medal, so you are going to have to earn respect, trust and you are going to have to be really good at a particular thing). Badges are just to say that someone worked really hard to get where he/she is right now in the community and that he/she is really good at what he/she does.
