kupu That sand looks great! And for the jump drive module top, I think it gives it just the touch it needed. Great work!

Better sand will definitely help make beach/ocean builds like this look better.
This brings up an (kinda of?)important question; Will water get an animation and some neat new lighting effects? Currently it's really hard to make-out from afar, and when you're close it just looks like clearer ice or glass of some sort.

Also, when/will water become, at the very least, non-colliding, if not actually water-like (Buoyancy, anyone?)

Totally not the right thread for this, I know....but I thought of it when seeing the beach there.

Yes please. Non-colliding water for low-energy forcefields we can walk through and such :D.

Really nice work so far, kupu !
Can't wait to see what happens to the wood block, because now it looks pretty weird...

It looks more like shit splattered on a brown plastic wall.
Way to compliment Kupu's work! :p

A few changes to the wood normal map wouldn't hurt, it does look more lumpy than bark should be. But hey, I don't know anything about alien trees!

One word, amazing, can't wait to see this all in the game.

Not so fussed about water getting buoyancy and all that, but making several layers of it become opaque, would be interesting.. Not sure if the graphics engine is capable of coping with that but in the meantime, you're doing great making other things shiny and sexy.

I'd be happy being able to walk through water instead of on it.

Creatures and astronauts should phase through water, but ships shouldn't. Suddenly, boats :D

I figure a stopgap mesure for buyoancy would be that ships sink until their COM is below the waterline at which point they atart floating. That way theres no tricky volume calculations for buyoancy.

Yeah, I was thinking the whole buoyancy would be an issue, but if you use the mass, centre of mass and volume to calculate the point of flotation it could work.

The main issue I have with having ships being able to clip through water at all is that you could end up with perfectly sealed things that still somehow have water in them, which would be pretty immersion breaking.
