      ... I\'ve decided there\'s a problem bigger than what kinds of ships are designed to do what vs other ships. Starbases are now helpless unless you just have one station and mark it as your faction\'s HQ. Even if you have 100,000,000 shield points in that thing, it\'ll just take longer to die...

      That\'s kind of what he did. Plug his new math into a spreadsheet and make several lines where ships have different amounts of shields. You\'ll find that bigger ships have a smaller proportional regen per second as opposed to the smaller ones. Plus the smaller ones have a shorter on-hit delay...

      The eternal problem with most \"war\" systems on servers where there\'s less than 100 or so people online at all times is that war is usually declared just so the attacker can have some kind of vague reason to legally go hunt lone ships and pick them off while extracting tears for the lulz ...

      As goofy as the end result is, I still think the current version is a step in the right direction. It\'s not GOOD yet, but it\'s an important step. The current math works out to small ships at least being able to do some damage and having a snowball\'s chance in hell of killing a titan...

      I have no idea how the AI is assigned to control these things, so I can\'t comment on your suggestion. I also believe the AI can use some tweaks, but I\'m of the mind that it\'s more in line with reducing the margin of error for firing accuracy and getting the AI\'s to use the actual weapon...

      I have a lot of respect for the intent of the change, but it does have some issues. The shield regen rate is a little on the low side, especially given that there\'s an on-hit regen delay now. So, IMO, either dump the on-hit regen delay or boost the regen rate from it\'s post-patch state...

      All player bases can be destroyed unless they\'re marked as an HQ base. The HQ base is both indestructible and has its location marked for all to see.
