Shields should work like power storage and generators. Shield dispenser should be responsible for amount of shields that ship will have and "shield generator" for how fast they will regenerate. More generators = more time after shot to regenerate but faster regeneration and more power usage...

Why? I'll tell you why... Because no matter how your armor is thick if it gets to the core you are doomed... What I just think, temporarily, until something better will be added, armor should be more resistant to energy weapons. Maybe even with doubled mass for the price. Antimatter cannons...

Very annoying bug. I'm not unable to build powerful cannons because of this. I try to build cannon like this: xx xx xx --> x -antimater cannons And when I set bobby AI as a turret, so ship can defend himself, its fire from weird angle and destroys all the turrets that are in the line of fire...
