      I'd rather the game not use fuel at all to be honest. Either it's so common that its existence in the game is pointless from a mechanics standpoint, or it becomes a pure hassle, slowing the games already slow pace down.       I'm fairly sure that when NPCs (specifically NPC factions) get improved many of the stations won't be abandoned. And I do like your pirate attack idea, assuming they aren't too frequent.

      I doubt anything in the rail system is 100% "finished" really. But yes, turret speed and functionality at the minute needs some serious improvement.

      Food I'm not too sure about. Fuel and the like I'm pretty much against. But what I would like is to be able to grow healing items/buffs and some craftable resources, giving a more sustainable If slower and more complex) alternative to strip mining.

      Something I always thought would be cool is having dynamic music with different layers of the music playing in different situations. For example fast, tense drums kick in when pirates spot you, peaceful twinkly fade in when you're on an ice planet etc.

      To be honest I would rather have the GUI system proposed already. While it's less "realistic" it's more interesting from a gameplay perspective, since you have to decide whether or not you want the speed or the manoeuvrability.

      A default ship, or better starting gear, I could get behind but I'm not sure that really solves the main issue. What I feel Starmade needs is a better "early" game altogether, ie giving the player stuff to do other than mine and craft and do a better job of easing players into the games intricacies.

      It's not just about loading screens. The biggest advantage we have now is we can interact with a planet from space, or vice versa. Instanced planets will go against that.

      Depending on how NPC control is handled it may not be a space issue. Likewise, depend on how its implemented Point Defense might be one the most useful places to put custom AI in, setting up blanket firing patterns etc.

      It was my understanding that Bobby AIs where going to be phased out almost entirely for NPCs, with customizable AI. However, that's not really been brought up for a while and is a fair way off, since that kind of thing is easier to implement when more of the games features are set in stone.

      Something I would like to see for planets is a way to mine them without strip mining. Something less server intensive, and possibly giving you more resources in the long term. Gives you a reason to build planet bases as well.
