      Fleet controls extending to Bobby AI is probably a good idea. It let's you have an amount of control over drone swarms etc.

      The announcement videos have explained how new mechanics work since they've started doing them, and Schema's posts always contain the same information, so it's a given. I don't think it will be outlined for players until release though.

      I doubt there'll be a specific "fleet" module, since they've said the plan is for NPCs to be able to operate ships. That's a further update though I think. Really excited here, been waiting for this update since NPCs were first added.

      I really like using several Cannon/Pulse/Ion arrays in sequence, really good for taking down shields quickly I find. Usually one array has already reloaded by the time shields start regening. Not terribly useful for block damage though. As far what I don't use, I also don't use Drain weaponry...

      It's generally easier to manage the AI's power consumption, though the trade off is the turret doesn't care where the power is coming from, it does what entity the block is on. It depends on the build really. Generally I do a bit of both, though skimp on the turret side power.

      Do multiple players using separate weapon computers have the multi-output penalty? Because once the quarters update hits I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to set up the AI doing that.

      For Desert and dead planets I agree, but war ravaged to me sounds notably distinct. That said, I don't think it should be a unique category of planet in itself, more of a subcategory. For example for every planet type during generation check for civilisation, then inhabited or ruined.

      If it's player controlled, as long as the smaller ships can break shield regen it will be normally them winning. If it's AI controlled it depends on weaponry etc, since the AI has a habit of wandering off. Drone swarms normally get by this due to being more focused in design, but bigger ships...
