Since the most recent couple patches, this is the case, as the punch and pierce effects are no longer capable of producing anywhere near the destruction they used to be able to. For every subsequent layer you go through, you need to do twice as much damage to get through (ie: you'll end up...
That they definitely should. At the moment, a jammed ship would be effectively immune to 95% of all effective block-breaking weapons if we take turrets out of the equation, which gives jammer ships a significant edge over scanner ships, as jammer ships can simply cut back on shields to maintain...
Missile explosive radii are done in steps for some weird reason. I can't remember what the damage requirement for moving up from one size to the next is, though, sadly.
Most servers these days have very large pirates. We'd need two things to compensate: God damn Larimar asteroid belts for shields (this has been an issue for *months*), and an Asteroid Size setting in server.cfg.
Can't say much about the missiles, because an IFF missile (fire and forget, friend or foe, etc) will lose a radar lock, but an aspect seeking missile only goes after things based on the image first presented when fired.
I'll only agree to missile locks not working on jammed ships on the...
I don't think it's really considered "combat" if it's against stationary targets or something, I'm not totally sure

Salvage stuff, make a factory, put factory on a derelict station. Salvage more, stockpile power and salvage modules, make a bigger salvager.
Move up to salvaging one planet, then work from there to make a new base
If both sides completely contradict, and only one side is right, though, you end up with a totally false image as a result of allowing equal speaking time to the wrong side.
