      Suggestion Disagree button

I disagree with having a disagree button. If you disagree, then you should explain why you disagree. Once at least one person has given an explanation to support their position, then the rest of the sheeple can jump on the bandwagon and click (y)

[SOLVED]Starmade Using More Ram Than Allocated?

As I said, it is normal, and expected behavior that a Java application uses more memory than what is specified by the Max memory setting. While your computer has the minimum required 4GB of RAM, another listed requirement (at least on the Steam store page) is that 2GB be allocated for StarMade...

      Schine Bi-weekly Q&A - 15th of March

What kind of limits will there be on mine-laying?

[SOLVED]Starmade Using More Ram Than Allocated?

The max memory size is only what is allocated to StarMade itself, but there is also a varying amount of overhead for the Java Virtural Machine. Also, while I'm not sure about StarMade's specifics, applications can also load things into memory outside of the application heap, like a native...

      [SOLVED] Cannot Hide HUD/GUI

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. The command for hiding the GUI is <WhateverKeyIsMappedtoServerInfo/Playerlist>+G So if you have "Server Info/Playerlist" mapped to GRAVE, then to hide the GUI, press GRAVE+G.

      [SOLVED] Cannot Hide HUD/GUI

It's whatever key you mapped to "Server Info / Player List", so in your case, Grave+G. Also, to clarify my comment about function key behavior; many laptops have a setting in the BIOS to invert the way the fn key works. At some point laptop makers decided to reverse the default of pressing the...

      [SOLVED] Cannot Hide HUD/GUI

Yes, you can rebind the keys for Radial Menu and Server Info / Player List in the Keyboard options. P.S. Many laptops also have setting to change the default behavior of the function keys.

      Off screen fleet operations

I assume it will eventually be simulated similar to NPC fleets, which was described in these two update notes: StarMade News - StarMade Dev Update: NPC Factions StarMade News - StarMade v0.199.349 - NPC Faction Update The dev notes had more info on mining than the v0-199-349 release notes, so I...

What does it mean when a hotbar icon is orange?

For me, it turns orange when there isn't enough power for the required resting consumption. Like, when you dock ship to an entity with a much smaller reactor.

      New power system and Warpgates

If you've waited this long, I'd suggest holding off a bit longer until they fix it;)

      New power system and Warpgates

I filed a bug on this, but it hasn't received any activity yet. From what I can tell, the Warp Gate is still using the mass of the ship, and seems to have some sort of unknown capacity that charges up very slowly. If you just want it to "work", you can change the PowerNeededPerMass to zero in...

      Block List by Entity?

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but a new feature was added allowing you to select a block type and highlight all blocks on the entity of that type, along with block count. The feature is in the right panel of the advanced build mode settings, under Selection.

      You Have Failed Us

Schine's alleged ignorance does not preclude your own. There are many reasons why this system could have made it past the drawing board despite your concerns being heard. One possibility is they simply didn't agree with what they heard. Another could be that the solutions presented ignored...

What exactly are the penalities of low stabilization?

I didn't understand what you meant at first. The four stabilizer groups are each solid, contiguous arcs made with intersecting 5x5x5 chunks. There are no gaps. The reactor is similarly constructed.

Is anyone able to do anything with shipyards?

This is what is currently working (and not working) for me in the Ship Yard: Create New Design: Working(load/unload/construct) Create from Catalog: Not working (hangs on load; subsequent attempts to load design give "design is not valid in database" without hanging) Create from Blueprint Item...

      You Have Failed Us

I suppose it could, but the sentiment relayed to me was one of frustration at trying to get over a wall when the designer clearly wanted you to slide under it. Sliding back on topic, is anyone else abandoning the game for greener pastures?

Power 2.0 (new iteration): GOOD WORK !

I’m having just as much fun tinkering with the systems and building ships as I did with the old power, minus the dull, uninspired part where you hit the soft cap and just start spamming reactors.

      You Have Failed Us

I would never dream of pretending people read, but that doesn’t make it someone else’s fault. Suddenly I find myself transported back to 1990, when my friend excitedly ran up to tell me how you could press Down and A to make MegaMan slide, and I calmly informed him that that was on page 7 of...

What exactly are the penalities of low stabilization?

There are only four groups of stabilizers. They are spaced just far enough apart to separate. The reactor axes have been adjusted so three of the four groups are giving a bonus. Stabilization is so high because there are simply more stabilizers than needed, as the ship was started before the...
