We will be getting a hyper-drive at some point that will be a continuous FTL option. Although as far as I know the current proposal means any ship with a hyper-drive is nothing more than a mobile station... (which is kind of dumb in my opinion)
The current jump drive is a glorified...
I already crossed over into the next galaxy using my jump drive, it took bloody forever. There was nothing to find and the map doesn't even work yet for more than one galaxy.
The structure can be seen rather well in the new map, and the point of the video was more of a bug report than anything. I wish I was set up to record my first reactions as my jaw dropped when I loaded the game. I did manage to find a planetoid but it didn't appear to be in any orbit.
I took the newly refit Groundhog to the range for some target practice. The turrets really do work best in the "Let's get the hell out of here" position. Using a Groundhog for direct assault is a poor choice, the large mining laser and dock block the turrets from being effective at attacking...
I need to get into the habit of recording my docking zones and all ships. Typically when I write up ship stats I include all docking zone sizes based on their "L Rating" as well as ships intended to be docked. Bigger ships are harder to figure out exactly so I haven't been bothering.
It's a...
I have a standard docking/naming system for my turrets at least. It tells me exactly how many enhancers I need in what direction. It applies to ships too I just don't use it as much as I should for them.

Yeah people complained about the round sun and moon so we got square moon with round phases... that was somehow acceptable even though it makes less sense.
...but like I said, I don't want it to be space engineers where everything is a defined complex model. Just look how far things like fence...
I can't wait for the day Starmade breaks away from the "Everything has to either be a block or a sprite" Minecraft has proven you can keep that certain aesthetic even when branching out into more in depth models. I'm not saying Starmade should become more like Space Engineers but a few things...
They are docked to a turret module (red) but it makes no difference, if I wanted them fixed I could dock them to hard points (green dock) and they would still face out the side like that.
The turrets are docked to the front and rear of a docked module (I called it a shield core. Basically just...
I beg to differ, I have a ship with turrets facing out the side.
This is my Civilian Escort Gunboat Class "Bull Shark" I built it for Raibens Ship a day challenge as the turret ship.
Over powered weapons have always been a concern when designing weapon systems. You counter this by splitting up the number of outputs, of course doing so causes you to consume more power the more projectiles you have.
