      Well no because "any kind of plating" will actually be destroyed as it takes damage and not 100% stop bullets until the "shield" gets to zero like you are asking for, regardless of how you charge it, still just another shield mechanic.       I Love my 2:2:1 and 3:3:2 Ion Torpedoes. Ion is such a great thing for missiles because beyond a certain amount of damage all of it is wasted anyway. Cannons are harder to tune because you want them dealing enough damage to hull in a single shot but not to much as it is wasted all the while...

      What do you call a "barrier" that stops damage from being dealt to a ships systems until it's depleted? Shield, Force field, structural integrity field. All just shields in the end.

      This is buggy and still in need of balance. The damage reduction aspect of punch doesn't seem to be working and pierce needs a huge buff as 100% vs 0% shield damage doesn't make up for the 75% vs 100% hull damage Peirce: 0% shields 100% hull Punch 100% shield 75% hull

      Nice, right now I've been adjusting them by hand to make sure my ion weapons still are capable of causing block damage. It would be much easier to just plug values into a calculator than do it all manually.

      Aside from the being physical objects light rods make great poles. Just place it and turn off the light. I've been using this method to add colors to my turrets and all I need to add is an antenna somewhere.
