      It's much better to simply start accelerating in whatever orientation you're already in to escape, since turning takes time and that's time you don't have (if you're already in trouble). Then you can just jump back to base.

      The turrets are using the old docking system. The stations have unfortunately never been updated since the rail update, so those stations still use the old turret system.

      I was talking assuming that the bug would be fixed. My current turrets already have a reduced weapon count to make them possible to fire and fully self-sustained. I have to admit that you have a pretty good point there.

      Before you say "just reduce the weapon count". Why would I reduce the weapon count when my ship is perfectly capable of feeding the power for the missiles? It's a lot more advantageous to have part of the weapons powered by the ship in this case, since that means that the turrets can be smaller...

      Herm... but it's not only for combat situations :/ The current docked entity overview in the structure tab is extremely laggy, crappy and unreliable. It'll need to be changed at some point anyways, and this suggestion offers the best replacement I've seen so far.

However, usually there's still enough place for some power system in turrets, even if you don't want to make it completely self-powered. For example, let's say that you have a hybrid turret...

      Idk if that'd work, afaik power outage time is static even if power is injected into the entity, so the turret would still run itself dry (needs testing). Tbh, I just wish that the damn bugs causing the issue would be fixed -_-. Making docked entities draw power when they reach 1 power instead...
